I thought i would have to uninstall 32 before installing 64 chrome. I was worried that i might not have all my bookmarks and all my extensions might not work. I saw some utube video's about installing 64 over 32 chrome so i decided to try it.

Started using Avira Pro. Do you think ZAM will help significantly with this.
I read Pro has web guard which is quite strong ( unlike Free Avira).

I never used ZAM. Can anyone give their opinion whether Zemana has any performance impact.

ZAM is an OD scanner so no performance impact.

I decided on Emsisoft as the realtime AV for my Dell Precision M6800 Mobile Workstation running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. It seemed light, responsive, played well with existing software and wasn't bloated with a bunch of stuff I don't want/need like to many AV's these days. It came down to it and ESET. I'm also running Sandboxie and EMET. After that I'm running a setup very similar to what Wilders user Windows_Security is using, relying mainly on integrated hardening. Secure Folders & Bouncer are great little tools. Unlike him though I'm using Firefox (v 27.0.1)... can't live without that. XP is still my favorite OS of all time but if I were forced to use this I could live with it. I just wouldn't do anything sensitive on it.

On my XP setup I'm experimenting with MBAE, creating custom shields and learning exactly what mitigations I can get away with without breaking things. I added Windows Explorer & Pidgin Messenger recently.

    You are welcome.
If you find out that it has resident feature let me know. I use portable version. From their description it follows that the only difference is no scheduled scans. But who knows.

Trying F-Secure Internet Security and so far i'm impressed! It's very light and hasn't effected system responsiveness other than when scanning for awhile. The only bad thing is Shadow Defender isn't compatible :thumbd:

the new F-Secure is the best yet, but I did find it gained weight and puffed a little after being installed for a few days.

Yes. I have tested it and the only thing I've noticed so far is F-Secure's IE addon doesn't work when IE is sandboxed but the web protection still workso_O
One other annoyance, F-Secure causes MPC to crash unless it is excluded from scanning.

I feel like malware isn't the biggest threat to me these days. I am starting to worry less about malware and more about my privacy. I might change my setup/OS depending on what will be discussed in this thread:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/is-linux-homecalling-less-than-windows.378158/

We have a ~1500 page long thread about anti-malware-setup but how often do you actually get in touch with malware and how often does microsoft, facebook, google,... get in touch with your sensible information ?

Very light. Hardly notice any drag.
I have set ZAM services to manual. Hence, only active when I want.
Avira Pro. performing very well. I purchased a license :)

I was wondering whether I should use HMP Alert along with it ( I already have license 1 year license which has been activated ). Although I feel I dont need it but thats the problem with people here at wilders. Always want to try :p

For now, only avira Pro and ZAM it is.
