Did you verify that those files are still not in your C:\Users\xxxx\AppData area?

It has been fixed and the fix should be in the next release.

@itman, we made a few additional adjustments to the first auto-update logic in today's update. Would you mind checking if you are seeing any improvements to the reported major slowdowns during boot that are caused by the auto-update starting too early? Thanks :).

For everyone else, here is a list of changes we implemented:
    • Improved: Logic for “Update rule” alerts.
    • Improved: File Guard has been enabled for network shares.
    • Improved: Consistency between Offline mode state and the corresponding text on the tray icon menu item.
    • Improved: Skipped Anti Malware Network lookup for trusted processes/files on File properties dialog.
    • Improved: Behavior Blocker panel’s grid filling procedure to avoid occasional hangs on GUI close.
    • Improved: Behavior Blocker panel’s process reputation.
    • Improved: Stability of the scheduler (scan/update).
    • Improved: Scheduled scans with setting “After online update” will only be executed after updates were received.
    • Improved: Synchronization when a scan task is waiting for another task to complete.
    • Improved: Behavior of scheduled scan task “Run now” button.
    • Improved: Scheduled scan When/What tabs: logical combinations of settings.
    • Improved: Stability of GUI termination while a scheduled scan is running.
    • Improved: Updater stability.
    • Improved: Auto-update will now start after 5 mins despite CPU load > 20%.
    • Improved: Automatic updates following a failed automatic update were executed too soon.
    • Improved: “Connection error” notifications will be shown for manual updates only.
    • Improved: License remap logic adjusted to correctly handle the modified Hardware ID caused by the Windows 10 update.
    • Improved: Quarantine file submission dialog.
    • Improved: Reboot notifications when the cleaning engine requires a reboot.
    • Improved: Surf Protection alert caption information.
    • Improved: Firewall stability and performance in Emsisoft Internet Security.
    • Fixed: Issue where some files were not updated during an update.
    • Fixed: Scanning/cleaning issue in Windows safe mode.

    • Fixed: Occasional crash: “List index out of bounds”.
    • Fixed: Issue with double log items.
    • Fixed: Issue in a2cmd when using parameter “/q=Quarantine” or parameter “/la”.
    • Fixed: Issue where scheduled scans appeared as manual scans in the scan logs.
    • Fixed: Text and state of “New/Current Scan” menu item.
    • Fixed: Issue where the same malware file was displayed twice in the scan results list.
    • Fixed: Occasional BSOD in Emsisoft Internet Security.

Finally, it was annoying when I was playing Diablo III (heavy HDD acess) and Emsisoft started doing a update.

    Game Mode is automatic right?

    Hi,

I have EAM temporarily uninstalled while I straighten out a few issues with Eset. Will reinstall tomorrow and let you know about the update situation.

Maybe my search ability is el-stinko today. Is there a product manual available for EAM?

    I have EAM on Win 7 64 4GB RAM.

Previous version, boot was good but on reaching desktop EAM took little time to settle down & till then system run little slow.
With this latest upgrade, after windows login it takes little time to reach desktop & just before reaching the desktop the screen goes black for 2-3 secs but on reaching desktop EAM settles quick.
So seems a prob solved & new prob emerged.
    Everything else is fine.
    No other realtime security software.
    Windows FW.

Yes, updating is much faster. However, there are still a number of ports used by the process. Guess you can't have everything ...................

I have another issue with EAM and it has existed for a while.

When used with Eset Smart Security, EAM slows my boot. It is the combo that is the culprit. W/o EAM installed, PC startup to desktop is almost instantaneous using Eset. When EAM is installed w/Eset, there is presently a lag of 10 - 20 secs. Past history has shown the startup time can be much longer. When I ran EAM w/o Eset SS 8, EAM startups were almost instantaneous.

I have excluded all Eset processes from EAM and vice versa for EAM processes from Eset. Don't know what else can be done? Perhaps changing A2service startup to Auto Delayed?

Installed EAM tonight, am liking it so far.

I performed a Quick Scan which resulted in a false positive:

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\IMAGE FILE EXECUTION OPTIONS\TASKMGR.EXE -> DEBUGGER  SecHijack (A)
Now, I know this is simply a result of selecting 'Replace Task Manger' under Process Explorer. I right-clicked on the entry and submit as a false positive.

My question: will I be notified if/when this is added to Emsisoft's whitelist?

It won't be fixed as it is not a false positive. All the detection says is that your Task Manager has been hijacked, which is true. EAM can't know that you did it on purpose. Just right click the detection and add it to your own local white-list.

True. I guess what may throw less-experienced users is the main screen now saying '1 MALWARE OBJECTS DETECTED SO FAR'. Incidentally, I have already done what you suggested, i.e. added the file to my own local white-list.

Thanks for the prompt response :)

    How to set password protection?
I set password but can change settings, shutdown, etc... & it doesn't ask for password?

I am liking EAM. Very light & no probs at all.

Is EIS too same as EAM i.e very light or not as it has FW?

    Re: Post#112 and the answer
It's a question I once asked about EEK and still not sure of an answer of what exactly will be white-listed
    1. This specific hijack by Process Explorer, or
2, Any old imaginable image hijack?
In some EEK .ini or properties file, I did not see PE. Instead I saw the exact detection name i.e. image hijack job.

Is game mode automatic? Emsisoft did a update when I was playing a game again, it should postpone and execute after the full screen aplication is closed.

You have to turn it ON from EIS/EAM tray icon --> Protection status --> Enter Game Mode

Latest update of EIS 10 screwed up all of my browsers.
It seems that the cause is the behavior blocker module because once i disable it, everything is fine again.
The issue is that when the Behavio Blocker is enabled it seriously cripples the browser, it takes longer to render websites and above all it makes the browser VERY VERY VERY EXTREMELY LAGGY, i can no longer scroll properly, browser is basically useless since once i start scrolling it cripples the whole PC (Also makes the mouse pointer extremely laggy) and the PC is useless.
As soon as i disable the BB everything works like it should!

Got the BB disabled until a new update is released.

EDIT: It seems to ONLY happen in my laptop which runs Windows 8.1 x64 with all the latest Windows Updates.

For clarity, is the only difference between EAM and EIS the firewall?

Anyone have the following issue on EAM v10 (latest stable)...

When EAM pops up a dialog box for user decision on a file (allow once, allow always, block always, quarantine); after the decision has been made, the dialog box disappears but the taskbar icon remains... cannot be opened, closed, cancelled (haven't tried Task Manager kill process yet)...

EAM is blocking router in a way?
Coz on reaching desktop after boot, it takes time for router to connect to internet.
This doesn't happens with other security software I have used & without EAM too. Internet connection is always instant on reaching desktop after boot.

    Win 7 64
    Win FW
    No other realtime.

Not correct, developer confirmed on Emsisoft forums recently that game mode is automatic for full screen apps. Manual option is there if needed (I guess for windowed games etc.)
