Google may not admit it, but I sure get the feeling that they have abandoned Picasa. It's been 'stuck' on v3.9 for what seems an eternity, still has bugs and still hasn't been migrated to a 64-bit program.

Anyone know anything (for sure) about the status of Picasa?

I'm guessing that is hasn't been abandoned, since it's only 4 months since it was last updated, and looking at the changelogs at Softpedia, it seems that at times there are over 6 months between updates.

I cannot recall where I got it but I somewhere read that with the launch of their completely new Google Photos they work on some inclusions of Picasa features. So we could see some transition of Picasa into cloud.

What bugs does it have and what benefit would there be in making it 64-bit?
