Please correct me if Im wrong but I think in Umatrix if you tick the box for " delete non blocked session cookies " at a time interval, this will take care of LSO's, negating Betterprivacy.

    regards.

Or you can stop stealing other people's work and use a legitimate streaming service.

If it were not for this sites, the web, would be a less safe place than it is now, because there are many professionals in the work that test their countermeasures with problematic websites.;)

It will definitely be much leaner. These two extensions are very efficiently coded. 2 extensions as opposed to your original 7, credit to the developer for the level of control and strengths of these extensions.

    regards.

I have been using ublock on my laptop as well as a remote server, on both it seems quite decent and I prefer it to ABP.

Agreed. Any website, even so called "safe" sites could use this embedded code trick. It's more peace of mind for those using an extension that can block them, or at the very least mitigate the effects of the unexpected pop-up.

I'm not sure why this happens for you?? Maybe one of your Chromium switches?

  13. Yep, did not think of that, thx

Yes, have been searching for a way to cut down on my privacy extensions, but every one of them had its uses. So yeah, I am happy to have found umatrix and ublock origin. Already my browser is snappier and loads pages faster.

However, I have decided to keep https everywhere and better privacy.
https everywhere descritpion seems broader than strict https of umatrix. And I like the ssl observatory feature.

I left betterprivacy, because from my testing, umatrix does not take care of LSOs. I disabled betterprivacy and went on youtube and other websites that gather them. then closed the websites and waited till the timer for removing cookies kicked in. All my cookies were gone yes, but LSOs were still on my hard drive. The moment I enabled betterprivacy the LSOs were gone. so it stays.

But overall, much better to have 4 extensions than 9 (yes, I also had been using ghostery and adblock edge in addition to the seven I wrote about).

    Thanks for the info guys

Understandably https everywhere is much more useful and configurable so I completely understand your decision if you need that level of control. As for Betterprivacy, thanks for letting us know the outcome. :thumb:

Which one, if you don't mind me asking? I tried the --no-referrers and --no-pings but neither worked for me.

  17. @wat0114
Do you mean that --no-pings and --no-referrers did not cause the network error or that they did not do what they were expected to do?

    I was playing with
    --enable-potentially-annoying-security-features
    --enable-strict-powerful-feature-restrictions
    --enable-strict-site-isolation
    --enable-win32k-renderer-lockdown
    --site-per-process
    --site-per-tab

Because I reverted back to safe image, I do not know which one(s) were on at that moment.

Upon changing some of the font settings in firefox i have discovered a bug with the ublock interface. In the advanced tab if i untick the box which says "allow sites to choose their own fonts" it disrupts the ublock interface.

Just thought i would make firefox users aware of this ocurrence.

On another note and i think this needs pointing out that some of the firefox themes do not work with ublock either.Im getting the impression that the firefox version was not given the 100% effort required.
This is quite lazy really to create a great adblocker and to not even work with some of the basic firefox functions.I have mentioned these issues time and tiime again on this forum and not even an acknowledgement from anyone that the issues can be re-produced.Now im at a point where i can only select a chosen few themes or a chosen few fonts to work with the extension when in fact the extension should have been more thoroughly tested to work with basic firefox settings.

Just thought i would air my thoughts on this.
    Thanks.

This is part of improvements I want to make for the Firefox version, which I understand has the API to do that kind of cleanup, as opposed to Chromium.

@gorhill Is there anything I could do to get that ad that Ublock Origin would not block be blocked by default in Ublock Origin? Should I report to Easylist or something?

Right, neither of those two switches prevented the aznotizie[.]com pop-up tab

Okay, then maybe one of these switches will prevent the pop-up. Just a thought. I will experiment later, thanks!

Yes, because uBlock uses font-based icons. Basically text that relies on a custom web font.
