A whole new frontier of fun: This is a very long, thorough step-by-step guide to Docker operating system level virtualization and deployment platform built on Linux Containers (LXC), including brief overview, how to get started, pull new images, run basic containers with services like SSH and Apache, how to commit changes to a new image, networking & exposing incoming ports, building new images with Dockerfiles, lots of troubleshooting of problems like SSH key generation, Apache startup issues, systemd workarounds, container root password, additional commands, advantages, tips & tricks, reading material, and more. Exhale, done. Enjoy.

I haven't read the article yet, but do you think that something like this could and should be implemented into Windows? Or am I misunderstanding what it's all about?

OK cool, will read about it. But do you think it could also be used as a security tool on home PC's?

Well, probably not. The amount of effort you'd need is too high. Besides, what external facing services do you have running? Probably none.

OK, so perhaps I misunderstood this feature, but to me it would be something like having separate desktops on one machine.
