Using the the award-winning IKARUS engine, SecuraLive free Antivirus software effectively removes viruses, rootkits, Trojans, spyware and other malware that has previously gone undetected by other security software. SecuraLive Antivirus detection engine works proactively to identify and stop new threats without requiring an update. It automatically runs hourly checks for updates to signatures and heuristics, providing a solid backup to its existing proactive detection.

SecuraLive Cloud Antivirus software scans and cleans your computer thoroughly and provides reports on any viruses that it finds. SecuraLive reduces the need to relinquish speed for detection. The product will scan and update in the background with no noticeable reduction in execution, minimizing the impact on user productivity.

SecuraLive Antivirus even provides you with removable device protection, automatically stopping and removing any viruses on devices that you plug into your computer. When a malware threat is detected on such a device, the app will automatically lock the content of the drive and remove the threat, unlocking the device once it has completed the task.

@GakunGak Thanks for posting this, I will try this when the download eventually completes. My internet connection has been throttled to a painfully slow speed at the moment, so it will take about 3 hours to download the 240MB installer :'(

    Yeah, looks interesting.

    Looking forward to your feedback.

Looking at the comparison table, quite a few features missing in free version.

I don't really test Antivirus software anymore, but this one I'm going to try.

Their product looks very clean and their privacy policy seems pretty reasonable as well.

    Thanks for posting this.

In case anyone wants to know...

It seems that the company is Australia based

No need to mention my name anywhere, I am not a "copyright" guy, but thanks for your kindness :)

On an unrelated note, while spinning it for a quick look in VMWare, it detected Baidu PC Faster [component of it, I think it was System Repair under toolbox, it was installing at that time] As PUP [Potentionally Unwanted Program]. It has options to customize, etc, but I had trouble uninstalling. OS was Windows XP 32bit SP3...

    Aussie success SecuraLive spreads AntiVirus

Driven by surging international demand, the Australian-owned SecuraLive antivirus brand today unveils a major extension of its product range to protect Windows PCs, Macs and even VPNs. SecuraLive, which is owned by Adelaide-based PCRange, has notched up strong international sales since it was launched in June last year, including major contracts in the US and Asia. This week at CeBIT in Sydney, where PCRange is an exhibitor, SecuraLive will display a new version of its SecuraLive AntiVirus scanning engine, an overhauled user interface, a brand new VPN (Virtual Private Network) product and the launch of Mac versions of SecuraLive.

    Ok, thanxx.

So it uses latest Ikarus engine/databases?
    Hope its not FPs prone.
    Hows Ikarus detection?

Is it a brand new AV or already released/established AV for a long time?

I just stumbled upon it today. My understanding is that uses Ikarus engine/db, probably latest.
Will see about it when I have more time.

not Ikarus, they say they developed their own.

“Australian customers love that SecuraLive is Australian-owned, not just another AV engine licensed from a US or European company. SecuraLive develops and owns its own AntiVirus engine.

You mean to say, its not using Ikarus but In-House engine?

I installed the free version. It shows license valid 6 June 2015. License Type - Trial?

I haven't tested it's detection yet, but here is my initial observations and impression.

Installer is 235MB (Might be an issue for some)
It uses two running background processes (GUI and Service)
Once you have updated and restarted your machine, it becomes pretty light on resources (150 to 400 MB while updating, scanning, etc., Jumps between 30 to 50 MB when always running)
    Barely any CPU usage
Does not register itself in Action Center (This needs to be fixed)
Requires registration, without it means a months trial (I need more info on this, not too sure)
Interface is clean, Navigation is easy, But the desktop and tray icon needs some work (Ugly)
Initial update takes too long (Might not be an issue for later updates)
Threat and Quick scanning are fast, Full scan takes quite awhile.

Seems to be solid, but does need some polish, Definitely an AV to keep an eye on though.

    It does uses Ikarus.
I checked program files folder & checked properties of some files & digital signs mention Ikarus.

Installed free version but license mention trial version valid for 1 month.

Tried to register but gives username & password invalid?
Tried quite a few weird names but the same prob.

Maybe they refer to the cloud AV engine/service that is in-house developed ? And Ikarus runs locally.

Curious that VB's August 2014 Windows 8 Professional test Ikarus passed, Securalive failed (Wildlist misses)

For the same reason that BD passed, and other AV's with BD engine failed.

Maybe register only applies to paid versions.
