New day, new updates... Installed all of them, no problems so far. I don't know why they didn't hold them until next patch Tuesday.
I only received 2 Optional Updates, and they were not on that list (Win7 Home Premium 64-bit): KB3020369 KB3045645

Hi, I got these 2 updates as well, BUT the 'more info' link just leads to a 'oops sorry page no longer exists', so what they are for is anybody's guess. If MS don't want to supply the relevant info then they will not be installed. - Simple as. Gordon
I see so many such abnormalities going on that it becomes the new norm for Microsoft patches. I start to wonder, what kind of coders do MS hire these days? Incompetent is the word comes to my mind. A shame, truly.
I can think of a few choice adjectives for MS coders these days. Incompetent would be the most polite one.
Blame the platform, not the people. Microsoft hires some brilliant coders, but the NT code base is extremely Byzantine.
Hmmm ... 'An aged Operating System is but a paltry thing, A tattered coat upon a stick, unless Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing For every tatter in its mortal dress, Nor is there singing school but studying Monuments of its own magnificence; And therefore I have sailed the seas and come To the holy city of Byzantium.' With apologies to William Butler Yeats. Microsoft seemed to have let their best coders go, it seems to me.
Microsoft re-releases seven optional patches, including KB 3046480... The patches appear to be innocuous and seem to mostly pave the way for Windows 10. Here's the list, along with the official descriptions: KB 3003729 -- April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 KB 3020369 -- Update 2819745 installation fails on a read-only domain controller (RODC) in Windows Server 2008 R2 KB 3021910 -- April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 KB 3045645 -- Update to force a UAC prompt when a customized SDB file is created in Windows KB 3046480 -- Update helps to determine whether to migrate the .Net Framework 1.1 when you upgrade Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 (presumably to Windows 10) KB 3048043 -- Screen flickers or becomes blank when you drag tiles on the Start screen in Windows KB 3048097 -- Compatibility update for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2: April 2015....http://www.infoworld.com/article/2916823/operating-systems/microsoft-re-releases-seven-optional-patches-including-kernel-patch-kb-3046480.html
Which is why I up dated on 5-3-2015 The update before was on 4-11-2015 after windows update just started working on 4-11-2015 after "Going on Holiday" for 6 months I can think of a few choice adjectives for MS coders these days. Incompetent would be the most polite one. I'll agree with that. w
