Keystroke encryption characters
Usually encrypted characters are seen appeared at the lower right hand corner but now no more after updated to HMPA 3.0.36 Build 181. Is it normal please?

 

See what is mentioned in the the HMP.A 3 build 181 changelog:

If you uninstalled a previous build before installing build 181, then it is normal the live keystroke encryption in the colored window border is now turned off.
If you did not uninstall a previous build before installing build 181, then the live keystroke encryption in the colored window border should not be turned off, according to what is stated in that changelog.

I don't know that it is as simple as a change of default though (at least not for me). This had worked for me previous to today, and now it does not, regardless of setting.

 

Switching ON the live keystroke encryption in the colored window border plus a REBOOT, that worked for me and is still working!

 

I'm having problems with Firefox (37.0.1) that hangs (not responding) when:
- I try to type text in the search area.
- I try to enter my master password in the pop-up box that appears (when you use a master password).
- I try to add text to (for instance) this forum.
(and I suspect that this situation can be triggered in a lot more ways, just by trying to input text)

This problem is not occurring in IE. I only see it in Firefox and it's not something new, because I remember encountering it also with earlier versions of Firefox and earlier builds of HMP.A. Don't know precisely when it started, because at first... you probably know what I mean .

I've read hawki's post #5163 but I'm not sure we are referring to the same problem even though the result is the same: Firefox seems to hang indefinitely and the only way to solve is to use task manager to kill the firefox.exe process. But in my case I don't see any relations with Silverlight or whatever.

What I found out till now: Disabling "Keystroke Encryption" solves this issue for me. This helped me on 2 out of 3 computers I'm using. But on the third one, the problem didn't even occur when "Keystroke Encryption" was enabled . So I did some further investigation and this made me pinpoint the problem to the "Show live Keystroke Encryption in colored window border" option in combination with "Keystroke Encryption".

Enabling "Keystroke Encryption" is not a problem as long as I disable the "Show live Keystroke Encryption in colored window border" option. Note: Enabling both seem to work fine as long as no reboot is performed! After a reboot the problem in Firefox is back.

Probably related is the green border that I'm missing with Firefox. Even though I have it enabled it doesn't show itself with Firefox. The only time it shows is (see note above) in that period between enabling "Show live Keystroke Encryption in colored window border" and doing a reboot. In that period HMP.A seems to work well with Firefox.

 

Doesn' t work, i manage to start downloading the game only when i uninstall HPA.

 

Didn't work for me. It worked two days ago and no longer does. It is on. I turned it off and back on, system has been rebooted several times. Still nothing on any browser. Maybe Windows Update broke something yesterday.

 

Image Backup Question:
Do I need to change anything in HMP.A while making /recovering backup image to /from external. From Windows or from rescue bootable media.

 

No need to change anything in HMPA.

 

I guess my question at this point is whether the keystoke encryption is not working, or just the notification. It still works on my laptop, but that copy is licensed. The 2 where it does not are a trial. The trial is not expired, but it is the only consistent thing I can find. That said, when I type on my laptop where it is working, I am getting odd characters in my text that I have to keep removing. Is this the reason the notification is now disabled by default? Or am I am I just special...

 

'Did you by any chance unchecked the 'colored window border'? Without a checked 'colored window border' there is no display of the 'live keystroke encryption.

I have a licensed copy of HP240/HPA181.

 

Can you try the Exploit Test Tool? If you type something in the URL address bar of Internet Explorer (or Firefox or Chrome) do you see characters appearing the Exploit Test Tool?

Ran the keyboard logger test. On my laptop where everything seems to be working (licensed copy) the text was scrambled. On the machine with a trial (23 days left) it showed plain text, which seems to imply the keyboard encryption is not functional.

 

What security software is on the machine with the trial?
(btw, there is no difference between trial or paid)

Getting these randomly while browsing web pages (mostly news / their comments).

 

Installed beta b182 over b181, normally I do a clean install!

Confirmed for: W7-x64 US, IE11, hp240, hpa beta182, FF Nightly 64, ....

 

These are all scheduled for inclusion in version 3.1.

Updated to build 182. After the reboot I noticed that the "Show live Keystroke Encryption in colored window border" option is enabled again (must have been done by the update process because I had it disabled before). After trying to type a character in the search box of Firefox, the process hangs. Stopped firefox.exe and disabled the "Show live Keystroke Encryption in colored window border". Problem gone again!

 

Hi version 181 and 182 are crashing the GTAV launcher instantly. I tried disabling everything on HitmanProalert, but it was still crashing. It wasn't until I uninstalled HitmanProalert that I can launch GTAV.
