Already reported via mailpack #1. If I don't get any reply until Wednesday morning, I'll nudge Jay or Emily to write me a nice letter.
If I fail to report on this on Wednesday, feel free to remind me and as soon as I read the message I'll notify them asap, I promise!

Actually all these links have nothing with the issues Frank stated.

I cannot agree: he provided real cases and I found nowhere refutation to them. If they were false then Qihoo would sue the authors. I am not so knowledgeable in this sphere to make definite conclusion. But all this troubles me a lot. I'm leaving Qihoo. I've uninstalled it from my PCs and smartphone.

What i dont understand is if the software has hidden backdoors that some of the links seem to purport ,then why doesnt other antimalware software detect qihooS installer as malware or a PUP?.

That's easy- No anti-malware application can detect slander.

For the explanation about court cases and why the end result is the way it is, here's a rather large homework to do:
    - educate self about how China's Anti-Trust and Anti-Monopoly Laws work
    - educate self about history of Qihoo vs competition
    - educate self about history of disputes [origin, continuation, and those no longer with us, how it all end]
    - educate self about china's market share, who holds which numbers, what does it mean for them, who doesn't like who, etc....
    - educate self about the consequences of those acts and lawsuits
    - educate self who benefits the most.....

    After all that, then.....
    WHY?
    - does western big name companies cooperate with 360?
    - does 360 makes such a huge impact worldwide?
    - does 360 is being recognized with majority of AV testing organizations, some of them ISO certified for quality?
    - does 360 is the largest recognized IT Security contributor to Microsoft [those windows updates you get even via REGULAR MS update? They helped make them]
    - does 360 cares about supporting Windows XP after it's support ended and still protects it?
    - does 360 is with the Amazon, HP, and others in cooperation?
    - does 360 does business in Brazil, a privacy oriented country?
    - does 360 joins with Alibaba launching shopping focused search?
    - does 360 scores so high even with it's own engine rivaling major paid products if it's a backdoor, sniffing, hackering piece of program?
    - does most of the companies cooperate with 360 if it's a backdoor, sniffing, hackering piece of program?
    - does 360 does so well financially?
    - does all things considered 360 come from the very same few who have a history of agression towards those challenging them their market position/quality of service?

But, I guess, uninstalling is way easier than verifying information and actually thinking....
And all the things I wrote in the past mean nothing....

After all this, then, I could post all the "dirty" stuff that comes from the competition like http://www.bbc.com/news/business-12605067 or http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...ropped-from-u-s-notorious-markets-piracy-list or http://www.computerworld.com/articl...na-s-baidu-and-taobao-over-pirated-goods.html or http://www.pcworld.com/article/2062...wsuit-from-rivals-mpaa-over-video-piracy.html or http://www.scmp.com/business/china-...web-video-firms-accuse-baidu-stealing-content or http://www.mediapost.com/publicatio...riters-accuse-baidu-of-stealing.html?edition= or...... http://www.scmp.com/article/730088/tencent-says-sorry-denies-any-breach-privacy or http://www.phayul.com/news/article.aspx?id=34480 or.......
And where would this lead to?

It would lead to turning this thread from being an information/support page to being a Wilders Court vs Qihoo 360.

    Who benefits the most?

    Those spreading messages of truth:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/windows-defender-whacked.374945/
Thank you Frankie, for the constructive contribution to the thread and actually helping me with the positive PR marketing for the Q360. You've actually did the job for me.
This is a publick THANK YOU! :)

If after all this, the situation is not clear, then I do not care for some people losing great quality/service over something that someone said over the Internet, and those being lazy to think of their own and do own research and apply logic.

I have been a lurker of this forum and thread for quite some time. And I'd like to point out two things here :

Some forum member wrote "Industry insiders said Qihoo 360’s response to the virus was abnormally and suspiciously fast. It released the first WireLurker cleaner on November 8 and announced its 360 Sec USB – released in September – already prevented the virus. Moreover, it was able to point the police to the virus’ alleged author in less than a week." - Shouldn't we appreciate Qihoo's quick response in helping the Chinese authorities to pin down the culprit ? (Mind you that Qihoo has a customer base of about 90% of all computer users in China, so it can help where no one else could in terms of speed and resources)

" does 360 is the largest recognized IT Security contributor to Microsoft [those windows updates you get even via REGULAR MS update? They helped make them]" - This is very true. In fact, Qihoo has received 68 acknowlegements from Microsoft since 2009 for reporting to them Windows loopholes and helping them with patch-ups. And Qihoo is indeed the most recognized IT firm for that reason by Microsoft in that respect.

p.s. For the past several years I've been using Avast free version and am now trying out 360TS, so far I'm very impressed.

To that Firefox sandboxing issues fellow, Qihoo needs more details as follows:

1: What search engine do you use?
2: Have you ever tried to exit sandbox and check? Is it normal?
3: What is your 360 Total Security version? What about your Firefox version?
    4: What about your system?

    The Firefox issue:

    1. Several search engines: Startpage, Google, DuckDuckGo, IMDb, Wikipedia, Youtube, Yahoo.
    All disappeared after Sandboxing
    2. Yes and the situation is normal without Sandbox.
    3. Total Security 6.00.0.1021 an Firefox is 37.0.1
    4. Windows 7 (x86) with Service pack 1

I think the fault is in the Firefox. Yesterday I tried Palemoon 25.3.1 which has the same engine as Firefox and seach engines stayed. Nothing disappeared with Sandbox!

    Hello,

I was wrong: Palemoon has all search engines after sandboxing. But I'm not able to write into them. What a pity. No Sandbox to me any more.

No word from my traditional contacts I usually have, got myself a new one. Reminded them about that today to revert to me soonest possible.
When they do, I shall copy paste everything here, I promise.

Please do hold for now until I can get this thing resolved. Your feedback is of utmost importance and can help improve program usability for others, thank you.

Your Welcome Buddy.:) I'm here to help.

I'm glad you finally admit that you are not objective, that you are concerned with "positive PR marketing." It would have been helpful if you had been more upfront about that.:)

What you really really really need to get fixed is the ability of dirty Qihoo to self-protect.

Without DEP/ASLR, the AV itself is just a huge attack surface. It's like living in a house with lots and lots of doors, and the doors will not only not lock, they will not even close correctly. Who would want to live in a house like that?

    av-test.jpg

But maybe this report is a lie. Part of the global conspiracy against dirty Qihoo. Who knows..

    Your Buddy,

    -Frankie:)

And the record goes on and on and on and...

Can we have a separate thread for anti/pro Qihoo statements? In fact, why don't we have separate sub-forum where members may start a thread for any company with which they have commercial issues.

Can a mod please jump in?

1: I'm not, numbers speak for themselves, but since you already helped.... :)
2: Qihoo already protects itself, please provide credible evidence it is unable to do so under hostile computing environment [unstable system, malware infested system, etc...]
3: Why should something that can be bypassed with exploits be widely used. Since we use the door/house terminology, it's like having a good door with electronic lock, but a 5 second power outage renders that security useless as the intruder can "bypass" the lock and enter. https://rh0dev.github.io/blog/2015/fun-with-info-leaks/
Alternatives are always better than known vulnerabilities.

    Thank you Frank, once again.
And while we are in the process of sertifications.....

Not only "dirty" Qihoo protects itself, but it also protects user's privacy against surveilance from the governments, such as the "equation" scandal.

Once again, I urge you not to poison this thread anymore. As people request, either create separate thread for this, or do it via PM, either works for me.

Are you willing to do remote session with Qihoo tech?

I did 3 times when I had issues with Windows Action Center, and they won't even move a mouse cursor if you are not at the front of your screen.
They are extremely professional and I guarantee their professionalism, as well as dedication to solve your issue.

If you agree, send email to support@360safe.com, ask for Robin, copy paste this message in quote, and provide relevant info such as teamviewer ID and time of your choice [please provide full style time with time zone classification].

    Hello again,
I think I've found the fault: it's my add-ons. When I started my Firefox and Palemoon with all my add-ons disabled everything was okay. Now I have to try to find out which add-on is to blame.

So, 360 Total Secure is all right. I like it, it's fast, secure and efficient and I want to keep it.
Thank you GakunGak for your efforts to help me. Without you I'd probably have given up instead of actively trying to find out the fault.

    GakunGak,

Any news or new measures from 360 to improve or reduce FPs?

Sure, please provide exact model you're using and Q360 will try to secure that particular model.
Why? Because there are a lot of those things floating around with different models. Providing an exact one like yours will increase your chances in getting it in future updates.
It's just a simple check to see if your admin/pass login is something to admin, administrator, or any default password and gives you the option to write it to something more complex.

@Solarlynx has already asked for FP reduction, most recent reply I've got which was yesterday:
So, as soon that's done, I will open MP#2 soon after, start taking notes and firing away.
As soon as I get something, I will post here everything that I've got.

P.S. If the replies are not satisfactory, wait for mail pack #2 opening and demand further explanation there, please reference original question and provide which details are missing....

Say, someone should rename this thread, ditch the Beta label....
    Thank you, that someone :)
