Is that file rating similar to NIS reputation scan?

It's probably over 5000 now, since the program started to add more and more features.
There was a time when it was buggy but simple.

    Can't do simple anymore....
As soon as they added BB and sandbox with HIPS, things got "complicated". :)
Fileratings gone, action descriptions [with bold text] gone, a lot of old things gone... I do love KillSwitch though!
Let's see what revolutionary thing they make for 9.0.363826.3421 :)

Not showing up via the internal updater yet. Has anyone installed over the top of 8.1.0.4426?

Upgrade via current installer will force all CIS's settings to default - beware.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the Comodo sandbox with Firefox (double click on Firefox icon in the Comodo consol) , vs the Comodo ''virtual desktop'' on vs 8.2?

    Cheers

imo if they would allow one to not install some parts i think it could be a much better product.

There was always a custom install. they never had it that u need this bloat. u can even disable the upgrade button to pro in the main windows. u can disable popups from the comodo center so u dont get any popups at all just for security reason. if u configure it right it is maybe,or a fact that it can be the stronges free av out there.

Nothing has changed. Custom install was always there.

Yes, when AV detects threats first time, you get GeekBuddy window, you have to select "Dont show again" & I will take care myself.
    Same for Ondemand scans.

And customize GUI options like disable "Messages from Comodo", etc...

What I don't like in their installers is that I have to download installer bundled with all that staff like GB and Chromodo which I won't install anyway and then uncheck it. Moreover the installer for FW is of the same size as for CIS full. It means they pack AV into FW installer.

The're working on a web installer aimed to be in their next major release (I think the beta is expected in July).

Nah, Chromodo and that Geekbudy are small. Whole installer is what, 200 MB?

It sounds nice to have a targeted web installer.

Chromodo is 50 MB. Whole installer for CIS, FW or AV is 216 MB.

At least they could exclude AV from FW installer.
