Been using the free version for years and LOVE it!

Now I am preparing a brand new laptop for a friend.

Before I start work on it I would like to image the HDD (on it OS and Recovery partition I assume) on the laptop BEFORE the laptop is ever booted from it's own HDD.

How can I put Macrium Reflect Free on a Boot CD or Live CD please?

Is there a best practise, tutorials or other methods to achieve my goal?

It would be great to have an image of the HDD as it is on the laptop now, so that when reverting back to that image the laptop goes through all the "first time starting etc" routine from the manufacturer. I assume Macrium Refelct Free is good for that?

Thank you for any help with this.

Ha ha, since I only ever did imaging with Macrium Reflect Free from inside the OS and only did restores from the rescue disk I completely overlooked that THERE IS a backup option on the rescue disk as well..

Fingers crossed the laptop will accept the rescue disk on first boot.

Unless it's got some very special disk sub-system hardware (I doubt it), it should work just fine (maybe a MOUSE issue if the USB sub-system hardware is wierd... use a USB2 if you have it, not a USB3. The TrackPad should work fine)).

Yep, all good. As always for me Macrium Reflect Free works like a charm.
