I have yet to see web filter offer any FP's at Maximum. Can you cite any links to test? Set to maximum it will prevent many different types of background exploits, but should never (or very rarely) flag a legitimate website.

Different types of background exploits? Where did you see that?

When you set it to maximum, Trend Micro will block websites that have offered some kind of malware or pup in the past, it will block some download portals too (because of PUPs).

(Trend Micro has powerful bot crawlers, so its web filter protection is top notch)

You can test for yourself, try to download some files from http://www.imgburn.com/, http://www.filehippo.com/ and you see what I am talking about.

It is not necessary bad behavior, like I said, I just personally like it better in Normal protection. If the user is a happy clicker (not a Wilders user) it should be very good at maximum.

Imgburn can be loaded with PUA/Malware, I'd prefer it blocked. For me - better safe than sorry, they can find all of this stuff at safer sites, such as Ninite.

Amazing showing.. Anyone else notice obscure testing some well known products totally fail? It's like if they don't know who is testing, or from which honeypot they draw resources, they drop the ball in a pretty big way.

Trend is picking up steam in a big way.. Also with the sales of ASUS routers, Trend's threat matrix is growing exponentially.

That's expected. Trend 2015 has a lot of new technology, and leverages a tremendous infrastructure based on Trend's enterprise offerings. Now with Trend integrated with ASUS routers, and the harvesting of malware DNA from that, I would expect Trend to continue it's push to the top. All signs point in that direction.

May I ask why you use TrustPort Antivirus FTW on your systems instead of Trend?

I love Trend, but really don't have a need for it's most powerful aspect - URL scanning, since I do that on my Gateway/UTM. Second, while Trend is very light, Trustport seems to have NO system impact whatsoever. Finally, 2 good engines (AVG+Bit Defender) offers a layered approach vs Trend with it's own engine. So I figure having a system with Gateway URL, Gateway Sophos, Gateway Avira and then AVG+Bit Defender on the Endpoints is probably more powerful then having all of that and Trend.

I still use Trend on my mobile/tablets, I feel they have the best mobile solution, and I love their device locator functionality!

For you, having Trend on your router and using Trustport is probably the dream team! The most powerful URL scanner in the world on your router, and 2 great engines with NO bloat, extra crap, or URL scanning on your desktop!

True, I am astonished with how light TrustPort is, it came out of the blue to end my light AV search

Since there was no evidence of Norton Security 22 coming to China within 20 days, I turned to Trend.
    • Simple and elegant user interface, with nicely polished animation -- the power of pro designer.
    • I got 2 or 3 false positives when using NS22, but zero with Trend.
    • The built-in Windows Firewall controller automatically sets the incoming rules to "block all", which caused some trouble when I tried to use Synergy. But I think it's fine for users without such needs.
It will be great if more options about WFW can be adjusted through Trend's UI.
    • About 10 USD for one pc for 3 years.

Trend really is a great product IMO. I can't wait for 2016 version. Beta should start in a couple of months. I emailed the producer for Trend earlier to get some dates if he can reveal them yet. Right now we are testing Office 365 security app.

While I am waiting for my 2nd 1 TB 850 PRO SSD to put it in RAID 0 mode with my other SSDs, I decided to try Trend to see if they fixed the firefox lag issue when opening multiple tabs.

    1) They didn't

    2) I am surprised now I get a lot of annoying notifications, stuff like it can protect me from the windows app store, upgrade to a higher suite.....etc

isn't it enough that they throw the parental controls icon and other things that are not pertaining to the Antivirus+ Security only and when you click on them it prompts you for an upgrade. They are doing exactly what BullGuard did alabeit with a nicer interface

Every Trend notification has a 'do not show again' at the bottom. They all happen within the first hour of installation. Nothing big, I don't see the controversy there. Trend released a patch a few weeks ago to reduce system weight even further, it's noticeably quicker.

I have no reservations installing Trend on systems anymore. Work or otherwise. At work we only have 2 solutions we vetted. Trend WFB and Forticlient (tied to Fortigate only, not stand alone). Both excellent IMO.

I just ingored the 4 large icons in its main interface :p So the only notification I got was the one telling me its realing time protection running, and never came back after I clicked on "don't show again".

The designer has brought a great UI to Trend. IMO, next, they should hire a user experience expert to optimize more in the UX...

I'm trying Antivirus+ Now, whenever I close Task Manager, it does not close, but gets minimised to the system tray, and the only way to close it is to open Task Manager again and end the process.

Also, I started a Quick Scan about 20 minutes ago and it is stuck on "Preparing to scan." There is no hard drive activity.

Edit: As soon as opened the UI after initial reboot, a program update was downloaded and installed. However, all the .exe files are dated from last year even though @Mayahana posted about a very recent program update.

After getting tired of the scan not starting, I paused it to see if pausing and then resuming it would make the scan start. Trend appeared to freeze when I paused the scan. Because of this, I rebooted. After a reboot, Trend installed another program update. Scans are still not starting. I've been waiting 45 minutes for a quick scan to start. Also the issue with Task Manager is still there.

Are you by any chance using XP?
I am asking since these are typical problems of the OS or otherwise due to other security software been installed (even if disabled).

    Uninstall all other security apps.
    Reboot.
    Install Trend.
Click "About" to force update it to the latest version.
    Reboot machine.
Click "About", make sure it's updated, if not, rinse and repeat.
Let it 'marinade' for an hour or two, reboot, and run a quick scan.

All of this for .. 99% of every Trend customer would take place in the background. But for impatient types, you can hand-crank it to speed things up. Although personally, I would just install it and move on with life.

    @fax I'm using Windows 7.

@Mayahana I no other av software installed when I installed Trend. I did go to About to get it to update to the latest version, and then did that again after I rebooted, and another update. While started a quick scan, it froze. The only thing I did not do was not wait an hour or to before running a scan.

Was there a program update for Trend 2015 yesterday? A while after I started my home computer yesterday, I noticed the real-time protection was disabled and the main window said a restart was required. My system started to crash after the reboot, which led to reinstalling Windows this morning...

Not saying it was caused by Trend, just curious...

never mind, it's more likely my hardware...
