I think Trend is a real contender in 2015 and beyond. I'm hearing good things about the impending 2016 Beta Test.. If they can keep up their 100% scoring... Also, Trend just patched for improved performance this week, it was already light, and fast, but it should feel even better this week.

Are you hearing it will even be prettier?

Yes, since they did hire a fairly well known graphic designer last year who did the 2015 version. ;-) But also - better protections.

Sadly, I confirmed this won't change all the way up to the product management team. Who knows though, miracles happen. ;-)

Bought my first AV software back in 1999 or 2000 and it was Pc-cillin.

And it's such a good example to show how a good UI designer could improve the looking and UE of a software.

VERY light, and even lighter after the patch last week. You might be shocked.

It's a "trend" where TrendMicro doesn't want to fall behind -- trying to make decisions.

But can it be configured to "move threat to quarantine" instead of just deleting and allow you to add the file to exclusion when restoring it? The other famous "auto-make-decision" product has no "exclude" button in quarantine and as soon as I restore a file, it will remove it again.

It isnt a problem with Trend Micro, if you restore a file it will automatically whitelist it.

    yeah That's better.

I had experience with "the other famous one" I mentioned and I was driven crazy because I had to manually add a file to exclusion.

Hm, I downloaded the trial and after a quick scan it found Adware Stiebar which ESET or Malwarebytes didn't report. I will give it a spin for 30 days. :)

Trend is rock solid, stable detection, light as a feather. Can't go wrong!

I've created a new beta testing account, any idea when does the Trend 2016 beta test kick off?

June or July it should begin. I can't wait myself. Some new technology coming in from the Trend Deep Security Platform. Trend is really pushing to move to the front of the pack, as noted with most of the latest tests like AVC, Trend is scoring 100% starting with the 2015 version, and they don't want to relinquish that. Watch for new technology relating to advanced persistent threats, and heuristic improvement.

Brilliant! I liked Trend 2015 myself (even bought a subscription) but had to eventually move away from it. The detection is top class, not a shade of doubt there - I had too much disk activity on my laptop after installing Trend 2015, overall.

Hopefully the 2016 version improves on that front.

Did you try it recently? Trend had a big performance patch a couple weeks ago.

Too late to do that as I've given away the key to a friend, but that's good to know. I'm on Emsisoft IS as of now.

I am using Trend AV on one of my machines and recently coreserviceshell started using 25% of the CPU constantly, any ideas or similar problems?

This cpu usage happens after a threat detection? In my case I noticed that cpu goes high because of the "Forensic analysis" module.

    Another one bites the dust.

In my case, TMAV 2015 was unbearable on my poor old laptop. I'm waiting for their coming 2016 version.

What kind of hardware did it haveo_O? It works like a champ on my wife's #2 laptop, which is a crappy Dual Core 2.2Ghz w/4GB of ram I purchased her close to 6 years ago. Although I did drop an SSD in it - I refuse to use any computer that doesn't have an SSD.
