Cool, please let me know how it does! I will have another release tonight or tomorrow, and it should be the final one before we release it to the public. Thank you!

Hey TyRizian, VoodooShieldService runs as a standard windows service, so it would not change either way. The GUI, VoodooShield.exe, runs a a full running process and is triggered to start by a registry entry, although there are other ways to start a process. We would like to keep the option to let the user decide whether VS should start on startup or not, but we could change the startup method. What did you have in mind? Please let me know and I will check it out, thank you!

Edit: I just thought of this... one thing I could do is have the service start the gui, but really it would be the same either way in the end. Although, I will play around with it and see if by chance it starts even faster. That way we do not have to add the registry entries. I will play around with it and see how it does. If you had something else in mind, please let me know!

Cool, thank you! Please email me your email address and I will turn it into essentially a lifetime license!

I am not too familiar with with steam, but it is pretty safe, right? Like, there probably are not any viruses or malware on steam, right? If not, then you probably do not need to add it as a web app, but if there is a chance that there is malware on that site, then yeah, I would add it. Thanks again!

Very cool, thank you for letting me know! It seems to be running even better with the new obsfuscator, but I just had a BSOD, although I do not think it was VS. I think it is because this is a 5 year old computer ;). I will let it run on my development machine with the new obsfucation method and see how it does as well. Although that machine is 3 years old as well ;).

Using the new obfuscation method, the file size grew from 1.6 mb to 2.2 mb. Not that it is a big deal, but I would like to get it down to 1.44 mb. You know, so I can put it on a floppy disk, for marketing purposes of course ;).

Yeah, that is a cool color. Maybe I should just make is so the user can adjust it to whatever color they want! That would be pretty easy to do actually.

Sure some would like that so I guess the Graphic's are not all written in C++ ?

Having the GUI run as a service is what I meant, which I think in turn should give it a minor boost. You're the creator, do as you see fit for your product, if you think it'll benefit the performance, then go for it. I was just making a suggestion, it is entirely up to you on how you want to approach it.

I just want to say thank you for just being here for your community and always listening, you work your tail off and I commend you for that...keep it up good sir.

VoodoooShield is one kick butt software...you truly have something special here.

The beauty in your product shines, only by all the hard work you have put into it. :thumb:

    Excellent work!

Yeah, exactly ;). The create process notify code is all in C++ and the KMD will be too. One of the advantages to .net is that you can add stuff like that rather quickly and accurately with little debugging, well, compared to C or C++. Then again, .net could never do the lower level stuff like the CPN or KMD, so they both have their purposes.

Well, once the VoodooShield executable is built and ready to go, we run the executable through an obsfuscator that scrambles the code to make it unreadable so that the source code is protected. Otherwise, when we released VS, everyone would be able to see all of the source code. Yeah, I do like the blue / grey, it is growing on me too ;).

fwiw ~ W8.1.x Task Manager notes VS Startup as High impact. I have VS Startup disabled through TM and place the VS Icon in taskbar via VS shortcut.
Granted, an extra step to populate the VS Icon... but, I feel and prefer the reduced Startup impact. So, one vote for maintaining user control over VS Startup.

Dan, when you click on detection name in alert it takes you to Google.
Can you change it to go to VirusTotal instead?
