Extensions in Vivaldi aren't supported yet.

Since it use Chromium, this is just a way to install them...

Yes, that's why I don't see the icon, but in the background Ghostery is working correctly. I did notice that Adblock Plus makes Vivaldi crash. And keep in mind that with other Chromium/Blink based browsers like Opera and Maxthon you can't do it, they offer their own extensions, so it is kinda interesting.

This Vivaldi tip to install extensions can be also made in Chrome or Opera...

But notice that not all the extensions can be installed this way...

Didn't know that, but to clarify, I didn't use any special tip or tweak, Vivaldi simply accepts extensions from the Google Store in the latest build. And are you getting to see icons in the toolbar from uBlock and AdBlock ?

I didn't know that with the latest version we can already install extensions from Google Store...

I don't have the icon of uBlock in Vivaldi, because they didn't support extensions yet, but if you say that now they let install extensions from Google Store, the icon should appear if they fully support them...

And they still didn't said that they officially added extensions to Vivaldi, so it's normal that you can't see the icons, or some extensions doesn't work...

Extensions isn't on that list, so I think they will implement it anyway... :)

I really like this browser, and will move to it as soon as it have some features...

I choose these from the poll:
    - Synchronization
    - Lazy tabs (do not start loading content in background tabs untill the tab being selected)
    - Setting for default download folder

    Also voted in the poll.

    - Setting for default download folder.
    - The one about image properties
    - Warn if download hasn't finished when closing browser.

    Yes correct.

Isn't it a bit fascinating how we all have our own needs? Almost none of the stuff that was mentioned on the list has high priority with me!

Remember that we discussed the possibility that Maxthon would switch to Google or IE extensions? At least we now know that it should be technically possible.

I think it technically could be a remote possibility. Google extensions would probably be the best path to follow. This really does remain in the realms of the subjunctive however as I believe extensions are not a priority with Maxthon. Their philosophy seems to be very different on this matter, especially to Google. On the Mozilla Firefox and Chrome/Chromium browsers extensions are an important marketing point. Maxthon, especially now with ABP, comes with virtually everything out of the box.

I like the look, I like the speed, but the settings and features are lacking at the moment.

Since this is a technical preview, I won't judge it too much.

This is definitely an interesting browser and I would like to see what direction they take.

It needs extension support, more privacy settings, customization and more default search engine support (Bing, Yahoo, etc.)

If they introduce the following, I more than likely will use this as my default web browser.

I have all the extensions I was using in Opera Blink working in Vivaldi except Adblock Plus which crashes it. I had to subsitute Adblock which works. They are working silently in the background with no buttons or widgets or menus but they work. The scriptblocking is a bit extreme. I just get the full whitelist menu and have to manually enter the domains.

substantial improvements in bookmarks manager. still needs a LOT more work though imo. to many steps to get to and use your bookmarks when you turn off the status bar and do NOT want a bookmarks bar. there is a new button to pull over the panel which is great but the way it should work is similar to firefox where hovering over a folder will pull down that one instead of having to open each and close each. and imo once you click a bookmark the panel should slide back over.

how the heck are you guys getting adblockers to actually work? i can get any of them installed right and mess with the options and all that but they simply dont block pop up pages? like oneclickads for instance. there is one page which is ridiculous for pop ups and it opens 3-4 on every click i use this to test adblockers and not one (ublock simply shuts down vivaldi when it tries to block them, adblock, adblock plus, and i tested a few others) of them block the pop up pages. they do block ads on the page im on but none block the pop up boxes or pop up pages??

just curious because this is not my first time installing add on's in chrome and i do know how, everyone keeps saying how the adblockers work so well with this but i just dont see it

Not just any browser, but one started by Jon von! It is a bit developmental (I only trust it on my old notebook at the moment lol) but I think Tetzchner has something here. I think it will really appeal to the fans of the now defunct Presto-engined Opera. :)
