I've left voice mail for Peter. We'll know soon I hope.

Keep your fingers crossed that CoU hasn't been retired. :(

    Hello 1PW
Can you direct Peter to this thread so he can answer if he can on one site instead a few?

I believe it won't be so dramatic. Expired domain need not mean end of story.

Currently Peter's cell phone goes to voice mail immediately as it did when I first left a message for him.

I'll dig around for his email address (I do have it) but I believe the email hosting app is on the same server hardware.

I'll update this thread if I find anything new.

I was at CoU late Thursday, without a hint of a problem. :(

Please do update the thread, if any new information comes to light. As a co-moderator and very dear friend, Donna provided me with quite a few email addresses. If there's anything I can possibly do to help, please let me know.

    Thanks !

    Hello All:

Peter has not phoned me back yet but I did send him emails to two different addresses I have on file for him.

I apologize to all for not having secondary contacts. The last time we spoke it might have been in late 2013 and the CoU server/site had been rock stable since then.

This will teach me the importance again about having a plan "B".

Yes - Donna would not be pleased... :(

I have been in contact with Tim and we both have sent emails and tried calling and at this point we have not had a reply from Peter. Tim and I are the other 2 Admins but Peter owns the right's to COU and has the server at his home so hopefully Peter will contact us and we can get COU back Online. I have to say COU has not been the same since the passing of Donna but we are trying our best to contact Peter and find out what we can do. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/announcement-in-memory-of-donna-buenaventura.317926/

    Thanks everyone.

    Daniel :(

    Thanks Daniel.
Maybe Peter can be contacted via the DSLR/BBR board (but it has been about an half year ago he has been seen there).
I guess we all have to be patient.

I'm not trying to look at the downside of the fate of CoU but I will say that things aren't looking so good. CoU is LLC and Peter has the rights to the Corporation which is dozleng.com. I will say that I have tried to contact Peter for over a month now and all I get is his voice Mail which tells me that his phone is off for reasons that I don't know. Also I know that sometimes life gives us some up and downs that we can't control. I believe that is one of those situations that has come to light. Even as I speek about CoU now I'm going thru some tuff times myself. I just got back from the hospital seeing my youngest daughter. It's like I'm living a nightmare but I have to stay strong even though I feel week.

I would like to thank all our loyal members for helping CoU be what it has for the years that it's been alive. I thank you all very much!
    God Bless You!

    Regards,
    Tim

Well - if COU does go down and out, 2 things are irreplaceable that should be ported across to Wilders, maybe.

    1) Donna's "Hall of Shame".
    - many users check in from time to time on that.

    2) The Calendar of Updates itself...
    - IMHO the Update Alert thread here at Wilders is less useful than COU was since I do manual updates of my apps to load onto a number of different 'puters.
    - I, and probably many others don't care about the latest antivirus definition notice, more interested in being alerted that a new version of an app (Flash Player, Libre Office, Shotcut, etc, etc) has come out, just like COU did.

Could mods consider that, and maybe Wilder's members support the idea?

    my 2cents worth.
