I don't use CCleaner and I really don't think it is the best by any means. There is a lot of strong competition these days from the likes of Clean Master, 360 Total Security (it's an antivirus, but is has an excellent junk cleaner which finds junk other cleaners don't) and Baidu Cleaner (which is still in beta). All three of these find more junk than CCleaner, and for example 360 Total Security cleans cache files from more than 550 different applications.

Why on earth does Baidu Cleaner need to use "the cloud" to clean up systems? Is this a joke or what.

I can only presume it gets the latest updates on what to clean over the internet.

The reason why I mentioned this, is because I'm getting a bit tired of this "cloud" thing, seems like just another sneaky way to cover yourself while invading privacy of the users, really a bad trend.

I threw out all these Chinese softwares from my devices (laptop, mobile and tablet). While they're free they're obviously full of ads, especially applications for Android/iOS and bundled with many additional features thus becoming bloatwares. If we speak about cleaning tools, CCleaner is exactly what you do expect from a cleaner. Includes only cleaning tools, no ads, no additional useless features. Moreover, its cleaning is safe what cannot be said for competitors. If you want to clean more, CCEnhancer gives you everything.

The programs I mentioned have no ads, and are safe to use. I don't know why you would say they are unsafe. While 360 Total Security is obviously an antivirus as well, the other two are two do just cleaning.

Clean Master will find some junk on the first run that you would probably want to keep, but it will actually tell you that, and it set to ignore it by default so it won't be detected again.

I just gave CCEnhancer a try and was impressed by the results. It enabled CCleaner to find junk files not found by other cleaners. I've never tried it in the past as I wrongly assumed that it would just add traces cleaning (something I don't really care about) for more software and not actual junk cleaning. Still, I prefer the interface of the Chinese software to that of CCleaner.

I tried to use CCEnhancer twice and it always resulted in reinstall, because it broke everything, it is not ready to be used by default.
I tried CleanMaster for some times and it caused conflicts and from the results of Baidu Cleaner, it is pretty much the same stuff.
It tries to remove useful stuff like creating system restore points, disable audio service, which will result in no sound and such.
No matter, what I try, I always end up with CCleaner again. Other cleaners remove something else, but it is not always safe.

I also don't use it. One needs to be careful using it to avoid unpleasant surprises. Default CCleaner is enough for me and lets me have a quiet sleep. :)

Neither Clean Master or Baidu Cleaner disable anything - they are just junk cleaners. If you are referring to Baidu PC Faster, it does disable some unneeded items, but you can add anything you don't want disabled to an ignore list. It does not disable System Restore or the Windows Audio services. I've used on a number of computers and it's never disabled anything essential.

I only occasionally use CCleaner to actually clean anything.
My main usage is checking Restore Points - and deleting individual RP's (far quicker than Windows) – uninstalling programs which Revo doesn't see! (quicker than using Programs & Features) and checking for any leftovers in Registry after removing programs which prove difficult to uninstall.
(I prefer to manually search and remove these unwanted keys, etc)

It wants to disable task for creating regular system restore points and my creative sound card system service, that is just, what I have noticed at the first glance.
Among others it wants to disable Setpoint, another well known. It includes memory cleanup to an overall junk cleanup for better impression, that is so cheap. :argh:

I like to try various cleanup software, but I prefer reliable and so far I have found only CCleaner and WiseCare to fulfill this.
There are others like GlaryUtilities or SlimCleaner, but they do not clean more than those 2 combined, they lack some features.

You can add these to the ignore list if you want.

Edit: Also, I presume that your sound card would still work with the service disabled?

I don't trust Clean Master (Cheetah = Kingsoft), Baidu, and IObit for their terrible practices.
Don't want to go into details but simply put:
Cheetah: privacy invasive, tried stealth marketing, allowed malicious ads for their product.
Baidu: the subject shipped/shipping PUPs such as hao123 which used nasty technique in the past. Their IME was also bit privacy invasive.
IObit: stoled Malwarebytes' and other AVs definition, no apology and even didn't admitted the theft.

Use products from these company may not cause actual damage, but for me using their products for privacy is contradictory. Remember Privdog which advertised as privacy product.

I use winapp2.ini which is trimmed down by trim.bat, no need/use for CCEnhancer.

But after updated to v5.03.5128, my scan crashes every time. This never happened in my history.

It has a simple solution, read carefully what is offered during installation. If you won't be a happy clicker, you can avoid unwanted bundled installations in the most cases.

    That's another story. ;)

The point is that CCleaner it is Bundleware.
