Give me screenshots [blur sensitive info if any] of Menu>Log>
    - Update
    - Downloaded File
    - web threat
Also, please confirm if hosts file has been modified in any way. Did computer restart solve the problem?
Does the issue persists when starting windows with
start>run>msconfig>diagnostic setup [or turning off startup programs and non-microsoft services]?

Ok I reinstalled thinking that may have been the issue. It installed fine but after it updated itself I got the same error.

I see that you have VoodooShield. I don't know how it works at all, but does it allow complete 360 folder to operate normally? Nothing is being blocked?

Please temporary disable Norton DNS, restart and try again. If then works, find alternative to Norton DNS...

Try this to change your DNS quickly to any of the other public ones that are available or better yet switch back to using your ISPs DNS as it will be faster than anyone else's.

Do you think it might be the DNS? I've actually placed Voodooshield back on so I don't really have a need for 360IS at the moment.

Most ISPs DNS incorporate "shields" on thier network that can block sites /downloads it thinks are malicious or dodgy.Norton DNS works the same way ,so its a possibility it could be that.

No at this time, G+ page seems to handle things as they want/need.
However, I might.... help "kick" things off in that direction this summer, if I store up enough energy to run it. We'll see.

If I remember correctly, back when I used Comodo DNS/Firewall with Q360, it blocked cloud/updated servers when I checked malicious website filtering.

For some reason, anything chinese automatically get's suspicious. Couldn't hurt to try it...

No need for snarky comments. You're attitude really isn't appreciated.

I don't think GG was being snarky. He reports issues to Qihoo so was probably pleased to hear that you were going to report back.

Mistake on my part, I should have been more elaborate in what I write.
    What I meant was:
Yes, you try and temp disable DNS, see if the problem is fixed and then let us know so we know about it next time someone else has a problem in order to provide support more quickly and efficiently.
I heartly appologize you felt insulted by my short reply, no malice intended.

I see that IS and TS have different number of processes and one is 32 bit, the other 64 bit.
Do this new engines in IS mean they will be the same core product? And IS will be a stripped down TS?

IS is/will be a strictly "security" product, while Total is/will be "security + optimization + evolution of features" in the near future....

    Hello all,

New to the forums here, just a couple of questions regarding 360 IS.
Sorry if this has already been answered before...

    1) I heard the URL filter only works on Internet Explorer.
Am I still protected if using Firefox and Opera ? I try testing a couple of malicious/phishing sites, and 360 IS never block those sites.

    2) Since this a cloud based AV, how effective is the detection rate without internet connection ?
Are there any virus signatures for offline protection ?

    Thank you.

    Hi

    1) There is a plugin for Firefox.
    2) If Bitdefender is active/installed you will have these signatures for offline protection

during download it gives network error since servers are so slow during download. If anyone got any pics and installed it let us know and post its screenshots and what is different.

@taleblou I'm also finding the server to be very slow. My download has not failed yet, but it will take around two hours to download it, as the server does not support multiple connections.
