I am testing Br 14 before possibly making a buy. I have a simple need. I want to make a backup of my C drive so that, if my machine crashes, I can restore all files and settings.

On the main screen I see "Backup to VD" but it is not clear to me what you mean when referring to a VD or Virtual drives. That is, I have an external USB hard drive that I want to backup to. Does BR consider this to be a Virtual Drive? I suppose so but I don't know.

Also: How does one update a screen shot to this forum? I have a file in .jpg format, is it possible to copy and paste this into a message here or to upload it so it can be seen by others?

"VD" is a generic term that refers to several formats in which Paragon programs can create the backups. "Backup to VD" means that the backup will be created in one of these formats. This has nothing to do with the external USB disk that you use to save the backups.

Which VD format should you use? Always use the default PVHD format to create the images.

To upload a JPG image in this forum, use the icon "Upload a File".

    Thank you.

I don't know how I missed the upload a file "Button".

    Best Regards
