What always surprises me in these tests / awards is how Kaspersky and Bitdefender win them when I feel they're the opposite. Haven't tried them since a year though
I have to vouch for Kaspersky Internet Security. I'm a student, gamer, and Netflix user. I have tried many security solutions, and I must say the Kaspersky is the lightest on my system and gives me the least amount of trouble.
I think Kaspersky does a fine job on tests... I emphasize.. On tests.... My experiences with it in deployed environments is less than satisfactory. I won't be wasting money on it ever again unless I see something drastic happen, like we saw with Norton and Trend 2015, and Avast Business 2015..
[offtopic ON]I have very positive experience with KIS deployment just a couple of adjustments to default settings and rarely had any calls or infections even with problematic users. Very solid protection with few bugs here and there [offtopic OFF] Congrats to Trend!
It would have been interesting to see where Emsisoft would have fit in with the overall big picture. Oh, well.
Not Sure being "The Best" is all that meaningful since the top 5-8 in each category were in the stratosphere. Is it the free Q360 that was tested for Android Mobile, or is all they offer the free version?

Not that I'm tempted to use it. But is anybody using Trend Micro Internet Security? It does well in a lot of tests & I just don't believe it's more than run of the mill.
Many consider Trend to be the best. Myself included. The technologies in 2015 continue to advance, and with all of the ASUS routers out there harvesting malware DNA, it's growing stronger by the week.
Does the routers being "Asus" have anything specifically to do with TM's improvement? I know there's an agreement in place, but how much does Asus have of that market anyway?
ASUS Routers certainly have something to do with it. AiProtection utilizes the trend protection network, so it helps in fingerprinting/dna sampling malware delivery sites, etc. To be honest I only expect Trend to get better as time progresses as a result of this.
Yes it's dang good. Weak on scripts though, but so are most others that I have used except for Kaspersky with one change to default settings.

After my license expires I'm going to give Avira Pro 2015 a try. Avira has shown to be consistent with regards of providing protection, which is confirmed by av-comparatives, av-test, virus bulletin and shadowserver.org.
Looking at that list it really seems to correlate with my personal experiences with some of those products. Everyone should be fairly observant of the fact that ClamAV and FPROT actually score really high. Many have suspected, and Kaspersky has alluded to the fact that they've learned to 'game' the testing houses systems. Wasn't it Kaspersky that said that many high scoring products game the system? I know Norton became fed up with it, and decided to pull out of many because they didn't want to devote resources to gaming the system. I run ClamAV and Bit Defender on my GATEWAY, so I have the third and tenth products on the list scanning everything that hits my network already. For me that means endpoints are largely a 'final opinion' type of product. Also it means I tend to want something that will work pretty well with PUP/PUA's as those usually sneak past Clam+BitDefender. I used Avira for a decade, the longest I have ever used a product. But I was forced to abandon them last year when the product 'dramatically' slowed boot time on Windows 8x machines. We're talking 10 times longer boots. Did they ever fix that? I still have a few Avira licenses laying around. FPROT was always an old favorite of mine, it's pretty interesting to see they still actually perform on 'real' honeypot situations. Its interesting to see Kaspersky basically at the bottom of the list.. Again, I will say the only time in recent years I have dealt with infected machines - Kaspersky was on them.
