I cannot access their website currently but it looks like Hotspot Shield is just another VPN.

They can be for increased privacy and for accessing normally blocked sites/videos. I don't know if they (Hotspot Shield) keep logs though.

Your welcome :) If you're looking for a free VPN service there are better choices IMHO. Just let us know :thumb:

From what I 've read online from other sources about Hotspot Shield is that the free version is ad sponsored and the paid version is not, however I'm also not able to accesss their website.

AnchorFree, the maker of Hotspot Shield, says on their site that they aggregate data along with placing ads in the browser when using the free version of Hotspot Shield. You are correct that ads are not displayed when using the paid version, however I specifically asked if they also stopped mining data in the paid version and I did not get an answer.

If you have the free version of Hotspot shield then you should have Adblocker it will block its ads but I think it will still let it open a pop-up on opening hotspot. Anyways I'd recommend ZenMate over Hotspot Shield. No ads, 5 locations, free..... ZenMate is an extension for Google Chrome.

I doubt it since a VPN needs to install a virtual network adapter. Perhaps others can say more?

The last time I tried SecurityKiss it was a simple, automated install. I had a six month subscription for one of the paid tiers and performance was very good. The free service is limited, but usable.

Sounds like you're no longer using SecurityKiss. Is that correct?

That's correct, I'm not using SecurityKiss at the moment. The free version is too limited for my purposes and VPNGate works well for me.

I've used it last December. It's automatic. Just go to securitykiss.com and register for a free account. You can upgrade anytime. Download the VPN client from the user panel usually situated at the top right hand of the website. Install the software. Choose a server from a country of your choice and click on Connect. And voila! You're set to go.:)
