What is your Android security setup these days?

I'm using DU Speed Booster and and old version of Baidu Mobile Guardian which has been translated to English. They actually both appear to use the same scan Engine (they are both published by Baidu). But, I'm using them for their optimisation and cleaning features, not becuse of the antivirus components.

All my phones and tablets and the majority of electronics I buy are Chinese brands, so I have no issue with using Chinese security software. I even have all my texts backed up automatically to the cloud by a Chinese texting app.

They basically offer the results of automatic quick analysis (but for some apps they manually analyze app), and "Danger" or "High risk" diagnostics don't necessarily mean the app is really danger or high risk, they just means the app has too much permission (regardless of its purpose) or possibly do use some dirty method such as airpush.
I recommend to take those diagnostics just as a grain of salt, but still useful especially when you look through analysis details (also look at analysis date).
There're also 2 apps which let you scan an app in Secroid even before installation, but they are 3rd party app (not directly related to Secroid).
One problem is probably it is only available for Japanese language...

Avast IS 2015 and Spyshelter 9.5 free are working well together.
The small problem is I can't use trackpad to scrolling webpage when running firefox under avast sandbox. anyone have this issue before?

There have been some possible malicious apps managed to enter the Google Store (or Play... whatever, I don't do these stuff) if I'm not being mistaken.

 

I can avoid them as I install only well known apps.

 

Although highly unlikely, anyone can be hacked (or just sell you out). You don't necessarily need an AV, but I use one anyways cause it's more than just that.

 

Android security is more of greyware & privacy than malware & obviously malicious behavior.
Though surely using only reputable apps reduces risks, still we don't/can't know how info sent will be treated and IMO people tend to disregard importance of permission.
But I admit those privacy things rarely cause actual damage to you(though there're already cases), so finally it comes down to your way of thinking.

Maybe they are needed ("need" includes tracking or so), but I don't need such super ultra multifunctional cleaning app.

Changed CM Cleaner and Security for 360 Security. CM seemed sometimes to consume too much RAM and battery (though I'm not sure it was CM). At least after the change the amount of used RAM was decreased in approximately 10%.

 

Can be sth like Zemana or Spyshelter on Android, but I haven't tested them so far.

Free version require many permissions and will be temporary disabled during 18:00 - 22:00 so I recommend paid version.

I guess you looked only free version. Paid version don't require any permission except run-on-boot. But note these app requires device administrator, tho it is different from usual sense of "administrator".
