I used to install it only sandboxied. I think it worked, meaning allowing scripts and not showing local IP with that test page.
Now at least it does not work and I am glad I did not install it on my real Chrome as all these extensions can be security risks.

 

Im not really a fan of these type of addons one i find them huge pain since you need to unblock so many needed things that is blocks by default.

I think im just going to switch from Chrome to Palemoon. Palemoon blocks this by default and has alot better default settings the firefox for your privacy.

 

If you care about privacy/security content blockers like uMatrix are very usable. But they are not agreed for everyone.

The problem is that some websites need scripts and even iFrames to work. Then that webrtc block would have given some anonymity if it had worked. Maybe the test script have changed better or then a Chrome update has broken it.

 

Pale Moon doesn't support WebRTC. Check technical details page of what Pale Moon features are disabled by design.

 

Well this stinks that WebRTC is broken now... I won't use manual script blockers, and I can't stand Firefox or ANY derivative of it..

Yes i realized that now even better alot of crap even in firefox is gone.

 

JFYI, TBB (Tor Browser Bundle) should've taken care of this by default, although ideally one should still check and test it by his/herself. I have no idea about JonDoFox.

against Tor Browser for two reasons:

1. We don't compile in WebRTC at all.
2. We set the pref 'media.peerconnection.enabled' to false.

Likely i kinda stopped giving a crap . If you use an alternative browser and dont use there search engine odds are they still tracking your ~ Snipped as per TOS ~ since they control 90% of the web. You can limit how much info google gets on you but pretty much impossible to eliminate it if you want to use the internet or any google type service like youtube.

 

I don't see a point to block webRTC if you aren't masking your IP.

 

Possible attack surface reduction. Firefox's WebRTC component had vuln in the past.

 

Thanks for the info. So I think opening a vulnerability hole is a trend now.

 

WebRTC can also be used to bypass ad blockers and Ghostery. That is one of the reasons they are pushing it. Somewhere, I read something by one of its developers and that was one of the big selling points.

It infuriates me Google keeps enabling WebRTC.

My conclusion is - they use this to track. I want it disabled without breaking browsing. I haven't found a solution yet.

 

Too bad, Android is the lucky winner, and yes totally agree "tracking, tracking", Dammit i can't stand Firefox and alternative too.

I agree on Firefox, I simply can't, and won't use it.. It's a mess IMO - for a variety of reasons.
