I updated from Backup and Recovery Free 2014 (10.1.21.287) to 14 (10.1.25.377) and the installation went OK and I used the program for a few minutes testing out the archives, etc. Then I hit the Express Launcher button and I received a message "Unable to start Express Launcher Can not read explauncher.ini file" and the program will not start. The file explauncher.ini is not in the Paragon Backup and Recovery 14 Free folder. I tried Repair from Add or Remove Programs, but that didn't work. I have xp Pro SP3. What do I need to do to get the program operational again? Thanks
According to my experience, the installation of these Paragon "14" programs frequently causes problems, for example wizards that can´t be started. Results are unpredictable, problems vary from one installation to the next. You could try to uninstall and reinstall, maybe the problem goes away.
Thanks for the reply. I still would like to able to fix this without the hassle of installation. Perhaps there is a explauncher.ini that I could download or maybe instructions on how to create the .ini file, after all, it's just a text file.
I installed the program in Windows 7 x64 and didn´t find any "explauncher.ini" file. The closest was "Win8Explauncher.ini". I browsed the interface and found several errors, but apparently after closing the error windows the wizards opened normally.
Robin: Every time I click on the Paragon icon, I get the same message that the explauncher.ini was not found or corrupted. I re-installed as you suggested and the Express Launcher window comes up. There is no explauncher.ini in any of the folders. I pressed the SWITCH TO FULL SCALE LAUNCHER button and I'm back where I started at the Launcher screen. I guess I'll just have to remember not to hit the Express Mode button, or it's re-install time.
Have you tried going back to the Express Mode from the Full Scale Mode since you reinstalled? I had the same problem installing a new purchased copy of Hard Disk Manager 15 suite today on a Windows 10 64 bit. system. Apparently the Express Mode is required to start the bootable recovery media creation wizard.
Thanks Robin: I reinstalled the program and started the Express Mode. I created a bootable flash drive with the Recovery Media Builder and then went to the Full Scale Mode. I will not attempt to go back to the Express Mode (full screen mode is more familiar anyway) unless I get a response to my support ticket to Paragon about the likely problem / fix to the ExpLauncher.ini issue reported earlier in this thread..
