    Hi tlu,

My guess is the the Google Chrome version's numbering system for Flashplayer follows the Windows version numbering scheme for it use on Windows systems, when in reality it is equivalent to the Linux version numbering scheme for Adobe's Flashplayer on Linux which is now version 11.2.202.442.

When I launch the Cromium Browser on Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS and type in "chrome\:\plugins" w/o the double quotes and backslashes, I get your version number nomenclature with the Pepper Flash Plugin alternative to Adobe Flashplayer for Linux.

My understanding is that Adobe Flash player for Linux has only "security" updates whereas Pepper Flash will have new features as well. In other words, Pepper Flash is the functional equivalent of Windows Flash.

Yeah, that does seem to be the case since pepper flash for Linux derives its operational extracts from the Google version.

    Which new features.?
Which specific websites require these new features.

I still use adobe flash 11.2 on mint with pale moon and it seems to function just fine. However im not sure if this version contains the flash protection mode.

There is a method to use an updated pepperflash in gecko browsers without the need to download chrome.
    http://www.webupd8.org/2014/05/install-fresh-player-plugin-in-ubuntu.html

Seeing as most sites function ok with 11.2 im not certain of any benefits in using the above method until adobe finally pulls the plug on 11.2 which would appear to be around the 2017 period.

Pepper Flash Player works for Chromium Linux (which I use) and Chrome which is used to install the libpepflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/ via /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/install_plugin and the corresponding executable of google chrome in /var/cache/apt/archives (on a Linux OS platform).

Also, Pepper Flash is the functional equivalent of Adobe Flash for Linux (i.e. not Windows Flash which is just Adobe Flash on Windows).
