Cool, thank you for letting me know! As you guys know, I always struggle with graphic design. That design actually was done by one of the new guys. I think it needs a little tweaking, but he might be on the right track? I dunno.

Hey TH, I know what you mean. I think kind of a blend between the 2 might work. He is working on the designs some more, so we will see what he comes up with. Thank you!

Cool, thank you for letting me know bjm! I can play around with the program files feature, but I would think that most people want this on all of the time.

How funny! I had just emailed CET last night to ask him what he thought about calling VS ZenLock. I had not even seen this post. I don't think I like the name ZenLock though, what do you guys think?

ZenLock sounds a bit silly, at least that is my opinion. I quite like the VoodooShield name.

Hi Krusty! Well, VS is my version of what I think UAC should have been all along. Well, to put it another way... I think ever web connected device (computer) needs a user-friendly toggling desktop shield gadget / computer lock, that toggles to ON and locks your computer (device) when a web app is running. So VS really is not an anti-exe, and it is even less similar to UAC, but it should be able to replace both.

I actually run the free version of VS, unless I need to register to test something for a user. See, I am always resetting my settings and it reverts to the free version automatically, and I always forget to register unless I need to change a setting. And this can happen for weeks or months. So in general, I run the free version more than I do the pro version, and I never notice the difference.

It looks like from your signature that VS would work great with the software you have listed!

If you are concerned about VS whitelisting malware that is already on your machine... just reset your whitelist every couple of months ;). And obviously scan with a couple of good malware / virus scanners in between. Thank you!

No issue here....you offer the option. I was not posting a problem with Automatically allow..[..]. I prefer knowing when / what goes into snap. I re-train every version.
Training is so easy. Why not train. Especially with beta....need to find bugs. No bugs to find if I tick Auto allow. No way to know if it's working. The absence of prompt may mean working or not working.

EDIT: Not clear....are we doing 2.23d...someone mentioned 2.23d install bug ?
EDIT: Why I prefer un-tick Auto allow for beta testing

See Dan's post #5724 I think think his response is what you refer to about... your "No Dupes" ;)

The delay is 5-7 seconds on my machine. I think some change needs to be done.

    Hi VS,

Thanks for your information. I'll give it a go for a while and see if it's for me.

It certainly does sound promising and I hope it will fit in nicely. :)

I'll let you know what I think after trying it out.

How does one "reset your whitelist every couple of months"?

Edit: I found how to reset the whitelist.

    Thanks,
    Krusty

So far so good! Everything seems to be working fine.

I wouldn't mind being able to move the shield icon but I can live it with.

VS just may be a keeper. :thumb:

    Hello VoodooShield,

I keep getting this alert after Norton Security with Backup 22.1 completes a Quick Scan. I get the same alert on both of my machines just as Norton's scan finishes.

    VoodooShield Alert.PNG

I'm fairly confident it is a false positive, is there anything I can do to stop this alert?

    Thanks,
    Krusty

It seems OK now. For some reason I needed to allow it a couple of times before VS considered OK to allow.

... Or it could just be my learning curve, or Norton has started to behave?

    Anyway...
