Hello, I am new to the forums (not Xenforo itself) and I'm having a current problem with HitmanPro Build 234. It causes my Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit to freeze my PC into 2-4secs of the scan. It forced me to go on Safemode to disable it from starting up when windows boot. I had tried Malware Anti-Malware but it closes on start scan. Microsoft's Security Essentials does not detect anything as well. Is there a way around for this?

Go to Settings -> Advanced -> Disk Mode > Choose: Compatbile Disk Mode
    Then perform a scan.

Hitman Pro cannot be started without answering a UAC prompt when UAC is enabled - even when the user or task has admin privileges. Is there any way around this?

    UAC_On.jpg

I would like to create a task to run an HMP daily scan for a standard account without having the user needing to interact with HMP.

You can try the following trick:
    1. Start > Control Panel > (System and Security > ) Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler
    2. From the Action menu, click Create Task…
    3. On the General tab enter a name, e.g. HitmanPro
    4. Check Run with highest privileges
    5. On Action tab add a new action to Start a program pointing to
      "C:\Program Files\HitmanPro\HitmanPro.exe"
      (include the quotes)
    6. Click OK to add the task.
    7. Now, right-click an empty spot on your Desktop and select New > Shortcut
    8. In the Create Shortcut window enter the following text:
      C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /run /tn "HitmanPro"
Whenever you want to run the specified program, simply double-click on the shortcut you've created without requiring UAC prompts or complete Administrator access.

I mentioned creating a task running with Admin priveleges (Run with highest privileges) did not work. Please try this yourself and tell me if it works for you on Windows 7. The task work-around skips the UAC prompt with programs like CCleaner, but HMP still triggers a UAC prompt. Would be nice if this could be solved.

The example I provided works for me on Windows 7. Maybe you forgot to specify the user account, one with administrative privileges? (by default it's your own user account)

Mark, sorry for the confusion, but I need to run the scan from a normal account that has no admin privileges. Creating a task still gives a prompt. Your solution is only silent if the account has admin privileges. I don't get any prompts from CCleaner when run from a normal account

Hi I hope this the correct place to query HitmanPro questions.
Recently two new entrys appeared in my HitmanPro 3.7.9 Build 234 scan results.

    1) SidebarExecute Gboxapp
    C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\

    2) SidebarExecute\ Gboxapp
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\

They are not identified as threats but as "Traces: 2"

The file in questions was created: 27-01-2015 13:19 and last modified: 27-01-2015 13:23
    And is 4KB in size

So the file as been on the system for a while and has only now just shown up in scans.

I read that someone else had these items show up in a scan, a user by the name of niki post #6293 in this thread.

I haven't removed the items and Hitman Pro has a default action of "ignore" for both itmes, and also the other user, niki mentioned in his/her post that deleting the two SidebarExecute items resulted in MalwareBytes Antimalware Premium having issues.

MalwareBytes Antimalware Premium scans show no threats.

Are these two entrys just false positives then ?

    Thanks.

These 2 entries are false positives. I've removed them from our cloud. Can you confirm these are no longer detected?

Does 236 over install 234 ? Does activation carry to new build ? Does Kickstart support W8.x

Beta's do not install over an installed version. Once we release 236 as non-Beta it will install itself over 234.
The activation is written to disk. New builds will pick up the license. As a matter of fact, HitmanPro.Alert also picks up the same license.

You cannot yet Kickstart an Windows 8 computer (working on that). Though you can create a Kickstart stick on a Windows 8 computer.

    Hope this helps.

Rescan with 234. Could be new detection in our cloud.

    Aha! So, Beta builds do not over-install non-Beta. But, I may uninstall non-Beta 234 & install Beta 236 ? Or, should I simply stay in sequence non-Beta 234 > non-Beta 236 ~~ re: W8 ... understood.
