My bad. I caught that right after making the post. I changed it, but I did not know anyone had responded yet.

I unticked automatically allow all software from the Program Files Folders. Sometime when i'm trying to open an application I will have to try 3 times. The shield will flash the first 2 times, but it will not give me the bubble option to allow it until the third try.

I run with unticked auto allow and not having your issue....maybe time for clean install.
After 2.23c install. I re-trained and missed some programs. They all prompted first click.... ?

I rolled my computer back to a time before ever installing VS. It just happens with certain applications. It happens more often when an application needs to launch a child process. After I launched my VPN I had trouble allowing the Tap Adapter which is part of open VPN, and a file called compose which my VPN also uses. If I right click on the compose file, and check it's properties it does not even show what extension the file is. It just says file.

I had never heard of ZenMate. I went to their website, and I don't see any listing of what countries their servers are located in. I also don't see what protocol they use for their VPN. Do you know what protocol they use for their VPN?

Check out their FAQ's and Blog. No geeky talk at ZenMate. Just encrypt tunnel mask. No protocol. It's all done with smoke and mirrors. Seriously, if the info you need is not in their FAQ's. support at zenmate dot com

    Dear Mr. VoodooSheild,

So the free version is a replacment for Windows UAC + anti-exe, right? Does the free version of VS bring anything to my party that isn't already covered? I'm concerned about redundancy with my currently installed programs. (please see my signature)

Edit: Another question, if your machine is already infected when you first install VS, and VS goes into training mode, does that automatically white list the infection?

    Thanks,
    Krusty

Yes, that would whitelist the infection if the malware had running processes at the time. You would want to ensure your system is clean first, for sure.

By the way, I think that VoodooShield would compliment the security tools from your signature nicely and would be a great balance for layered security.

Great observations and advice Kees, thank you! I see there were a few other comments on this, so I will read all of them and figure out the best thing to do.

Hey Overkill, the commandline feature is pretty much automatic, and most of the common command lines are hardwired behind the scenes. But whenever VS blocks a command line, you will be able to allow it, just like any other regular item. I am not sure if there would ever be a need to manually add a command line... it should all happen pretty much automatically, but you can delete them if you like. Thank you!

Well, that is on our to do list. At some point, we need to go through all of the logging and make sure everything is only logged once. We will do that soon though, thank you!

That is because it is waiting to hear back from the VoodooShield registration server. I can change that so that the window comes up first. Thank you!
