I hope they keep developing it, i'll buy licenses to support it as much as i can.
I like it. I like the firewall a lot, specially the firewall status windows and i love the HIPS. Probably the only true HIPS left out there along with Comodo but i trust Emsisoft more.

Yeah, I have depended on it since 2003. I hope development continues, but if they decide against I would like to know ASAP. I've been waiting patiently with the expectation of development to start back so I would like to know what their decision is so I can design my layered security approach accordingly. Wouldn't it be something if they decided to make the code opensouce? lol Too bad there is not someone out there as crazy about OA as I am with a lot of money to buy the code, and do that lol

It seems PrivateFirewall and Online Armor are both in question on continued developement decisions.

That isn't going to happen. OA depends on a lot of closed source third party libraries that we don't own. The code without those libraries would be worthless.

What about releasing a standalone BB once again, like Mamutu? I'm searching for a good HIPS/BB, but without any other component like EIS and EAM. And I don't like OA, but you probably already figured that out.

They aren't going to reply to these kinds of questions, and I can almost tell you(I do test for them) that what you are asking probably won't happen. EIS is a great product, you ought to try it

PFW has not been updated since more than a year now.
It's freeware, so certainly not high on their to-do list.

EIS has/is a classical HIPS ? OA was very powerful.

No, it does not have a HIPS.

Only BB. So a user gets smaller popups.

Thanks for the answers. I know EAM for a long time, very good product, but I dislike if OA will be discontinued: is a very good HIPS ! I prefer HIPS than BB, and I don't find them - HIPSs - obtrusive: they do exactly what they have to do, and what I seek.

Yes, OA HIPS is very unobtrusive being very strong. It'll be a pity if they ditch it.

Yes, I think Online Armor is by far the most unobtrusive HIPS. It uses a humongous white list to prevent the user from being prompted about harmless actions. Online Armor is also one of the most robust HIPS as well.

Yes I know, as you can see I'm really desperate for a good HIPS/BB, that I'm even willing to ask questions that I already know the answer on. :D

I'm on Win 8 (8.1) and I'm not satisfied with any HIPS at the moment. SpyShelter could have been great, but rules management and the event viewer is a mess. And GUI is very important to me, that's why I'm so picky.

Didn't like it, the last time I tried. But let's not hijack the thread.

Can't say I'm surprised though I am disappointed. Guess I'll have to move my license(s) over.

Online Armor is good firewall but best is use EIS and full control in hand.
