I still don't know why you like this app so much. Not my cup of tea at all. Also, no screenshots on the page.
I tested this in a lab environment for nearly 3 weeks. Then deployed it on 12 machines at home. It does a remarkable job at reducing/removing any potential windows errors, and is a very proactive product without being overly aggressive. Also it has a 'decent' malware scanning engine in it that actually has found things. If you install Kerish on a fresh machine it doesn't have much to do, maybe 3, 6, 10-20 fixes a day or less. But on a machine with a lot of issues, it can perform 200-300+ fixes a day to keep it running smoothly and not crashing. You can verify with windows error logs, and other tools to see that it actually does prevent a pretty significant number of issues. I didn't think I would like it either, but we had some incredible results with it in the lab. One of our business clients actually deployed it after I showed it to their on-site IT, and they ran their own tests. One of the big things it fixes/prevents are windows update errors. The only (potential) downside is it can randomly take a percentage or two of CPU cycles as it monitors and proactively adjust things. Not a problem as I run between 4-8 cores on every system. But for really old/slow machines, this may be noticed.
@ Mayahana OK, I see. Personally I'm very skeptical about these kind of apps. I quickly checked out Baidu PC Faster, and it's bloated as hell. But Kerish Doctor will not even start inside Sandboxie's virtual container, which is even worse and always a bad sign.
Kerish has no bloat. No toolbars, no extra nonsense, no false promises. It won't run sandboxed because it functions at a very deep level on the OS, and half of it's features wouldn't even work within a sandbox.
That makes sense, but at least show me the freaking GUI, and don't just auto close on me, know what I mean? But anyway, it's reason enough to stay far away from it. Perhaps I will check it on a VM.
@ roger_m Thanks, seems I overlooked that. But to be honest, because of the new design, I try to avoid Softpedia like the plague, it looks like crap on Opera 12. But sometimes I have no choice. The GUI from Kerish looks nice, but I have never liked these kinda tools. They can sometimes cause even more problems.
Yes the new "improved" layout of Softpedia is terrible. I would say that Kerish is one of the few tools which should not cause problems and can actually fix problems.
LOL, I've just checked out BoostSpeed 7, nifty GUI, but I didn't like it at all. I guess these type of apps are not for me. http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/boost-speed/
What does this have to do with Kerish Doctor? Kerish Doctor isn't a placebo system optimizer or booster.
I had never heard of this progam until now...So, I have installed via a monitored install earlier tonight, a 15 day trial. After the install, I ran a scan, but I am not game to let the program repair anything yet, just in case it could cause a possible system failure. Spoiler: screenshot
No false positives so far, no system damages here. That's on 24 machines with it installed. A dozen in the home, and another dozen one of our MSP Clients in-house IT has it on, and he claims it reduces his IT work. At first Kerish can have a lot to do. But after a couple of days it settles, and only has a few fixes a day. My license ran out on secondary systems here, and had not gotten around to renewal. My wife started having issues 'breaking' her computer a few days later, and asked where that 'doctor' was to fix things because her computer ran flawless with it on it.
Well, I'm saying that it is, based upon the description. I'm almost sure that if you like Kerish, you will like BoostSpeed also.
Doubtful. I avoid system tweakers and speed boosters. Kerish is a lot more than that, shockingly - I was skeptical and had it on a test system for weeks before deploying it. I'm untrusting of these sorts of programs.
That's correct, I've just look at the description. And did you guys actually try BoostSpeed 7? It seems to have roughly the same capabilities as KD, but I'm sure KD is more advanced. But that doesn't mean that similar tools suck.
I've tried it just like I've tried just about ever system optimizaton program, and I can say they are very different. Kerish Doctor can actually fix specific problems, unlike other system optimization software.
May i ask Roger do you use KD in realtime or ondemand? I would also be interested in any changes/tweaks that you and Mayahana have made to KD to improve the settings. Thank you.
Well, I was surprised when I noticed it had cleaned out 925 items a short while ago...I took a couple of screenshots. The system is still working. So, I will reboot, later and see if it is OK, after. Spoiler: screenshots
Let us know how it goes. I do run Kerish in realtime on all machines here. Once it marinades on a system it has less and less to fix, but can really prevent crashes/instabilities.
I noticed "Application Detailed Information" in the 'context menu' when I went scan a download with on demand AV, so I was curious, and clicked. Another option, with Kerish...; Spoiler: screenshot
