Do you guys have any experience with these kinda tools? I have now run into several websites that detect ad-blockers, this worries me a bit. The first link is an example of a site that does this, those bastards will show the video in black and white unless your turn off Adblock Plus. In Firefox you can turn it off per site, but this is not possible in Opera 12. http://www.rtlxl.nl/#!/goede-tijden-slechte-tijden-10821/8cb324fd-d497-3c60-96a4-f282901aaaea http://www.ghacks.net/2013/09/01/anti-adblock-killer-removes-website-ad-blocking-protections/ https://github.com/reek/anti-adblock-killer
I played the video in the first link and it was in Color. I have anti adblock filter in Adguard For Windows that i have.
OK, so basically ad-blockers should be able to cope with this kinda stuff. Do you have any idea if Adblock Plus can do this? https://addons.opera.com/nl/extensions/details/opera-adblock/?display=en
I turned Adguard for Windows off and turned on Adblock warning filter on in Adblock Chrome Extension and played the video in Color with no problem.
It seems like I solved it. Apparently, extensions like Adblock Plus and Ghostery stop working, when you disable "Content blocking" in Opera 12, and this can luckily be done per page. But this was not the solution I'm after, I would like to add an "Anti-Adblock Killer" filter, but the filters from link 3 (post #1) don't work with ABP for Opera. Did you add any filters?
Not sure what you mean? In uBlock, Anti-Adblock Killer is one of the many I've checkmarked, and the userscript is installed in Tampermonkey.
It seems I was wrong, you really have to disable ABP completely to solve this problem. Luckily I still hardly see any ads, is it perhaps because of Ghostery and my script-blocker?
I will see what I can do. It does bug me that ABP is more advanced on Firefox and Opera 26, but that is because of the extension system on Opera 12, which is more limited.
Yes, it seems to be. Also, Opera 12, if i remember correctly it is based on Presto Engine, which is no longer in development. Not sure, if it is a good idea to continue to use it. And devs wouldn't think about it Does uBlock work in Opera 12?
No, like you said yourself, most people don't develop extensions anymore for Opera 12. But despite the less advanced extensions system, there are still a couple of great ones, like ABP, Ghostery, ScriptKeeper and Image Autosizer. I did check out Opera 26, and so far I liked TabHamster and "I don't care about cookies", those 2 I'm missing. And like I said, ABP is also more advanced, as seen in the pic.
