I tested my HDD and its not that, so I don't know what is corrupting my files and folders.

If it's desktop I vote bad/cheap PSU. These give strange intermittent problems.

Did the manufacturer include hardware testing software?

For testing if my documents are changing unexpectedly over time, I use FileVerifier++.

Guessing wildly, which probably won't help you, memory or gpu.

That's weird, I don't know for sure if it's caused by this, but after disabling this feature, I lost about 7GB of space from my SSD. I also applied some tweaks with Ultimate Windows Tweaker but none of them were related to the disk-drive. Does anyone have any ideas?

I also could not find any new files that were created, so could it perhaps be the hibernation file that has somehow become bigger ? To get my space back, I decided to reduce the size of my page-file.

EDIT: I just found this: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html
