This is the companion poll to the UAC poll: UAC - What is your preferred User Account Control setting(s)?

This poll is intended to figure out the breakdown between Administrator and Standard user account use for Windows users. The idea here is for your daily use system. Although there are so many different use cases, so just choose based on what you feel is appropriate.

The idea for this poll came to mind while reading the following thread:
UACMe - Defeating Windows User Account Control

It seemed as though the general consensus was that setting your UAC settings to the highest seemed to prevent all (or at least most) UAC bypasses and that with security and malware in general, using a standard account instead of admin account seemed to make any damage at least more contained. At least this is what I got out of reading that thread as well as the kernelmode thread that is linked by the OP of that thread. And the idea of this account poll combined with the UAC poll is simply just to get a decent breakdown of users here at Wilders are choosing most often, whether it be steering more toward security or more toward convenience.

Administrator account. Why don't I use standard user account? It's because I need to elevate something everyday and it is not practical to type in my account password in every UAC prompts. No, don't suggest me to use a tool that can remember UAC approvals, I don't want things running on high privilege level without me knowing it.

I do admit that I would love to use LUA though.

Admin with UAC turned off, I would go insane when running as standard user.

Always as a Standard user, unless there is some extensive administrative work I need to do, in which case I log in to the Administrator account, and once I'm done log back in to the Standard account.

I prefer to use Administrator account. It's easier.

It's the same for me too. I want no prompts and everything to be run as an administrator.

Administrator Account, for the same reasons of GrafZeppelin and Minimalist. This doesn't mean that I don't defend my pc in other ways ;)

Administrator. I have never used user accounts. I think it probably would be uncomfortable for me to use one.

BTW, I have decided to not apply the registry tweak to completely disable UAC on Win 8. I think it's better to make apps run with "medium integrity" rights.

Admin, I'm pretty sure most of us are masters of our own systems here.

I voted "Other". It all depends on what I am going to do.

If I'm going to do mostly casual daily stuffs like browsing the web, write notes or playing media; I log in as standard user.
If I'm going to do admin tasks like installing programs and changing settings, then I switch to admin but still under AAM (Admin Approval Mode).
UAC is always at highest setting.

My OS doesn't support different types of accounts. For daily use, I run in a user mode that's defined by HIPS and firewall rules.

I currently use a standard account for everyday use, but the next time that I install an operating system, I am considering using an admin account for everyday use, with UAC slider set to "Always Notify."

    Standard user (and UAC max).

I started using the standard user account on my W2K system, and while it was little annoying in the beginning being so restricted on my own computer system, I gradually felt much more freedom - to be able to use my computer as it was intended to without worrying too much about malware. The first thing I do after a new Windows install for my family members is to set UAC max and arrange a restricted user account.

They complained a lot in the beginning though. ^^

LUA. I almost never go to admin. I have done this since Vista (on XP and w2000 it was unpractical)

Of course my parents and my wife also use LUA.

Given this, I guess I will continue to use a standard account in the future.
