Thanks chrlshlmn. May you and yours have a prosperous New Year. And as always.... Stay Sicher My Friend.
Hello, For now, G DATA effectively chose not to participate in the comparative AV-Comparatives. The reason is simple: G DATA disagrees with AV-Comparatives about filing protocols on its virus detection tests (User dependent" criterion) Others have made the same decision (Norton for example). I use GDATA for several months: no slowing for my PC (5 years old), no false positive.
I think you will find other companies bowing out of AVC in the new year. I think this is partially related to companies not wanting to devote resources to these tests, and also the fact that these tests seem to not be indicative of real experiences. Gdata is a very powerful product, to have these powerful products dropping out makes me wonder if AVC will change their methodologies to be more reflective of actual experiences/results from end users? As it is right now, I'd pay more attention to well constructed youtube reviews than some of these synthetic tests.
