Ah that's not what the news page reads. It clearly says "Beta Release"

I have read this Post from the beginning, but in the last months I don“t have time enough to read.
I remember that it was planned to release two versions of AX64 with new names, one version similar to AX64 and one version with all the bells and whistles. Now I find only AX64 2.0. Please can somebody inform me about the current status?
    Many thanks!

Updated today, now my licenses will not work. I bought a 4 pack last November..

If your 4 pack was for version 1, it won't work. If it was for version 2, it should. In that case email support

Really? I paid that much, almost 70.00 and they won't allow upgrades? Maybe time to move on, especially for only 1 year...

Email Support, and ask them. It may just be a problem with the license.

It was more clear in the past that when you bought a license it was for that version only and any updates within that version. I looked on the site now and didn't see anything about this. It's a common procedure with many software companies, but should be clearly indicated on their site. In any event it shouldn't be hard to find when looking for it and I didn't find it.

I think the assumed upgrade rule is...
    1) Software that is licensed for a specific time period (like AV programs) get all updates throughout that period.
    2) Software that is not licensed for a time period, you get all updates free within that major version number. Major version updates are charged for.

It was on the Q and A page

Does this mean, that another version with all the bells and whistles is in development? Or is it cancled?

No, it just means that AX 64 Time Machine is what they are working on that we know of at the moment. Nothing more, nothing less

    Hi,

One more time I get this strange issue where, when rebooting and opening a session, TM V2 build 258 says drivers are not installed. The only fix I found is to remove/uninstall the software, then reboot, then reinstall it, then reboot, then it works again but the previous backup chain is no longer seen.

I just wonder if there is a way to make the old backup chain recognized again in such a situation ?

    Thanks.

Have you tried opening the browser in TM, and using the open button to navigate to the thread folder?

    Thanks for your reply !

Oh, this works fine, I can restore them, but new snapshots are not taken from the previous chain, TM says there is zero kB saved and I am currently performing a new snapshot, considering the size it takes on the HDD, it is rather clear that the previous chain is not used.

Once you open the old chain, it still doesn't continue from there?

I had this problem also - about driver not installed. I just went back to TM V2 build 548 and it's running ok.

I wonder how productive it is for users to have to find a version that works for them. I think it would at least be better for the company if 90% of the users were on the current release.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Were you able to re-use the same chain ? And do you know if this build can still be downloaded ?

I was unable to re-use the same chain. I downloaded Build 548 - yes.

Hi John! I have all the AXTM releases and #248 was never included in the release set, either for BETA or RELEASE. v2 started with BETA #315.
