unless a x64 version shows up ; this soft will be abandoned in the near future (just my opinion); on security you must follow the technology or you are done.
Unfortunately most new computers now come with x64 like mine did. There was no option. I was a happy DW user for several years, but had to move on when my old computer died.
https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/64-bit-systems-and-anti-malware-software.250126/page-2 http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112146 Those threads had Ilya's response regarding developing a 64-bit version. All began in 2009 - 5 years ago. Unless he found a way to do it, I doubt he is willing to make a compromise on his earlier stance.
Well, I expect some features of DefenseWall to be implemented in the sandbox of Avast. Big advantage for novice users was that DW's sandbox was integrated in the file system (seamless containment). Interesting
I am glad to know that Ilya is employed, and I hope doing very well. Does anyone know if their is a way to pay a license renewal. I realize it might not get updated, but I would like to compensate Ilya if that is possible. nowadays.
There is a "prolongate" button on his web page for both versions. It's about 13$ to renew your license. Last time I emailed DW support he answered that early this year will release a new version.
I have one simple question for the users of DefenseWall. I have an old pc with WindowsXP Home with 2GB Ram. I install DefenseWall HIPS as my only line of defense in the system and although system goes well generally, in browsers I noticed that there is a slowdown in videos streaming whatever site I tested. I have istalled nothing else and the problem exist in both Chrome and Firefox latest versions. Is there a solution?
I'm not sure of the status of Defensewall support at this time but previously I would have told you to go to the DefenseWall thread at gladiator security forum. Ilya used to answer there very quickly.
