Browser Choice Ruling Against Microsoft Expires

They'll need more than a Win 10 'Death Star' to strike back after the recent Bork Tuesday fiascos. lol

 

It didn't ask a damn thing on a new Acer PC last month anyway. It's not the first new PC doing it. I don't know if it's Microsoft or the OEM who's to blame.

 

Same over here, I bought 3 new machines this year from HP, Asus and Acer, and I didn't see it.

 

This ruling only affected certain parts of the world. The rest has never been presented with the screen.

However, let's get real. It doesn't matter. Anyone can download a different browser regardless of the ruling. The choice has always been there...

If we want to nitpick over anti-competition practice, might as well have a consumer ballot screen for each and every single bundled MS program that comes with Windows. Retarded.

Mac OSX comes with Safari.
Linux distros each come with their choice of default browser.
Android comes with Chrome.

I'm not defending MS here. I'm just calling out what I see as stupid.

 

It affected the EU which Italy and The Netherlands are part of.

 

I must admit I don't really see the point of this ruling either. I'm not anti EU, I live in it, but the ballot screen seems redundant and unnecessary to me.

 

That was such an unnecessary mess. I wonder if any of these vendors are happy now, seeing as it accomplished nothing?
