    Apparently people do, but not every 'end user' out there are 'experts' in IT, or wit and sarcasm for that matter!
    They tend to look at things like results and reviews before making informed decisions.
    Based on your expert analysis I look forward to your commercial offerings as and when you release them!
    My grandfather used to say "never criticise something you aren't capable of making better yourself or that simply shows you're not as clever as you'd like other people to believe you are!"

    I've never used it before (but evaluated lots of others) but at the moment am pleasantly surprised.
    No impact of performance and one of the best, if not the best engines behind the scenes (discounting the ones that the 3 musketeers above will be releasing shortly of course!).

    1) it's heavy, despite reviews saying it's light, in my experience at least
    2) it has some FPs, not as bad as other solutions, but still, I don't deal with AVs that has FPs. Especially not stupid ones like when I right click a folder in my Dropbox account on the website, when it compiles the collection of files in that folder as a zip, the download is blocked as Bitdefender thinks it's a virus (that was when I used it 6 months ago), happens on every Dropbox folder no matter what the content is
    3) It adds an entry in the boot records which screws up my image if I restore back to an older one for some reason since the boot record changed
    4) the interface is fugly, plus wants you to create an account and login, no thanks
    5) their updater is the buggiest updater I've ever seen in my life! been like this since 3 years. You insall it, then run the first update, then it says you need to reboot, great! so I reboot, then update again, another reboot required, it's a random and annoying loop which happens from time to time

    Now I criticise it even though I cannot make anything better, I am an end user, I have choices, so I choice differently

    Just my 2 cents worth

    I meant no offense with my previous post, so chill out please; I said that because there are always active giveaways from Bitdefender, it has been this way for almost 2 ~ 3 years.

    Example (Free Total Security 1 year):

    Bitdefender has a great engine and a not so good app, but still a good option.

    @Offtopic:

    As a customer I can always criticize a product or a service, it is the logic of the market and simple freedom of speech.

    I'll make this short and sweet in a little Story "Long long ago, People were being infested by computer viruses, and standard antivirus scanner no longer cut it. Then along came Bitdefender with their brilliant Invention Bitdefender 7 and Bitdefender 7 Plus.. a small but excellent tool that beat all others. Unfortunately some years past, and the director of Bitdefender had an Atrial Septal Aneurysm, and decided to screw up all Bitdefender products by adding bloat and crapware.. and People said "F' this I'm using something else".....The End!
