I'm getting ready to give this a trial run at work as a replacement for what we are using now. We do software development so I hope it is not too difficult to exclude freshly compiled files. From the testing I did in a virtual machine yesterday it looked promising. I hope testing on actual machines goes as well.

Jack let me know how you like it. I am interested in it as well. Will be hard to pull me away from Eset though. :)

Let us know.. I love the 2015 product, but feel it needs more time to marinade, there are some non-critical bugs and annoyances. By next year it will be even stronger due to some back end aspects being improved by the day. I certainly don't want to give the impression 2015 isn't good. It's great..

So far the testing is going well. I have 2 users on it and they have had no issues. I am going to expand it to a couple more next week. I'm sure all of the big players are effective enough, I need something that doesn't disrupt productivity. So far out of 4 products this one is coming up the winner.

How do you send trend a threat sample? I can't find any way to do this that doesn't end in a dead link.

    Try this page:

    https://esupport.trendmicro.com/SRF/srfnabu.aspx?locale=en

Select "Files to Submit for Analysis" from the dropdown list. Then follow the instructions for uploading the sample in a password-protected ZIP file.

Wow impressive. I loaded it in a VM. Did not put it through its paces. Off the bat, I noticed it was slow to load upon login to a pc.

There is an option to change this under performance. Trend by default will place it's tray load on the back burner. Like Kaspersky does.

I wouldn't let that stop me from looking at it more. Testing is still going very well. When I can give something to other users and not get complaints or have issues I consider it to be something that will be mostly trouble free. I asked the users if they were getting any slowdowns or having any issues just because I wasn't getting any feedback and they said everything was fine.

Agreed. Like I said, did not put it through its paces. I normally run Eset.

Too bad that the price is a bid high.

Keep an eye out for sales. Currently you can get Trend IS 1 year/3 seats for $50 download at newegg.com. That's not the greatest sale, but still a fair bit cheaper than full price. There will probably be more throughout December.

Also you can buy older versions for cheap. I think you can activate 2015 on as far back as 2012 keys.

Not bad. I asked the users if they had any complaints and they said no.

Those guys on Youtube seem to be unable to 'break' Trend 2015, so they are loving it. One of them released a test where he clicked on 225 pieces of new malware, and they were all stopped after reputation validation by Trend. Some new stuff is coming down the pipe to make it even more efficient, and stronger.. Also the Fingerprinting, and TDS backend is growing exponentially by the day as more ASUS routers are sold, increasing the collective intelligence to incredible levels as time goes on.

Trend needs to work on malicious scripts like vbs, but so do most others. Trend's reputation validation on .exe's is top notch.

Probably difficult, not all vbs is malicious. I use it a lot myself.

I've been trialing Trend Micro Internet Security for the past week and so far I really like it. It's true that it isn't as configurable as a lot of the other security software, but that doesn't bother me for this application. I put it on my MS Surface Pro Tablet because I wanted something that was solid protection that I don't have to mess with. The tablet has 4gb of ram, an i5 processor, running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. I picked up a license for 7.99 from Newegg for 1 PC for a year which I saw on the Newegg deal thread. Thanks to all who contribute there. I installed Malwarebytes Anti Exploit too and it seems to run fine with Trend just for your info.

Hello all, i recently changed from KiS 2015 to Trend max security 8, and i notice that in idle state, trend's process uses like 2-5% CPU all the time. Is that normal? Ram usage comes down to like 50 mb but cpu is working all the time with that process. On other AV suites in idle CPU stays at 0%. Thanks :)

Anyone else have trend stripping email attachments when the email scanning is enabled? The things is, I can't find anything in the logs about files that are stripped, but when this option was enabled in settings, I'd watch an attachment come in, then the disappear from the message. And I have no idea if it quarantines the file or simply deletes it, or how to deal with false positives.

I have not seen this, it runs at 0% for me at idle.

We purchased 10 licenses and I have had no complaints from any of the users I installed it on. No issues whatsoever have been reported to me by any of the staff.

Does it do this with 'all' files? Some files? Some extensions? Try to pin it down a bit more, and are they appearing in quarantine?
