Hello, tonight I got a real time detection for Utorrent.exe. I sent the file to virustotal, Avira was the only one detecting. I had to add the file as an exception to stop the constant alerts.
I sent the file to Avira, and to my surprise they said the file was damaged but contained malicious code fragments.
I would have posted on the Avira forum, but it appears to have disappeared.
Any thoughts on why Avira claim it's damaged/malicious

depends where you got your utorrent from? if it's anywhere except the utorrent website, then I'm not surprised at all by this finding, such problems can be using utorrent to download utorrent plus + - trouble

Well I have never had any problems with Utorrent. I seem to remember options to install some crapware upon installation.
I have never heard of deluge, I will have a look

Well, I already new this was a false alarm. It was just a surprise that Avira labs said it has fragments of malicious code in it. They have now released an update, the " malicious" file is now a clean one
I wonder how many people allowed Avira to wreck Utorrent ? I feel a conspiracy theory coming on :argh:
