Hi @avatar I am no longer facing this issue, had installed the version as noted in the blog. The problem i faced earlier was not able to browse any site if i enable mobile data connection. As soon i stop adguard protection, i am able to browse. This was not a problem if i am on wifi. I will let you know if i face the issue in future. b/W as stated above, how come high speed is selected instead of high quality mode for a nexus 4 device. Does this not meet the requirements? Anywayz, i will check and see if it adds any significant delays. Also, how much the quality mode cause more cpu usage?
All mobile filters are optimized. As you know our extensions may collect ad filters usage stats (if user want to help us). We use these stats to optimize Android filters - they contain only popular rules. Let's take English filter as an example: English filter normally contains ~48k rules. Mobile English filter contains ~11k rules.
If it does this mode is enabled by default. I am sure it uses more CPU but it's hard to say how much.
ok. Just enabled it. And seeing page loads faster than quality mode. May be its a placebo effect or my data connection signal may be strong now... I hope this will not cause more cpu usage. Will keep an eye on how this addon progresses Am happy what it is now Great Job!
Can you also check and see why wccftech.com is not loaded in android. it works fine on desktop though... I have useful ads option disabled though..
Sorry, i forgot one critical piece in my earlier test case. Here are steps to reproduce the issue. 1. Enable Mobile data conx. and check "Restricted Background data.." option 2. You will not able to browse unless you disable Adguard or uncheck "Restricted Background.." option. Is it possible for you to make this app be treated as a foreground app when browsing.. Thanks, Harsha.
It is possible but you should switch filtering mode to "Local HTTP Proxy". If you have ROOT access it is rather simple. But if not you'll have to manually set proxy settings for Wi-Fi connection. No, no sign.
The following passage is Google's reply to why AdGuard is not allowed on the Google Store. This is very misleading and low. They are giving a mysterious reason as to why it's not allowed. If it blocks Google Ads then why don't they say? Not giving a adequate reason is pretty disgusting. This is the problem with big corporate companys. If it because of blocking Google Ads then what does that say about Google forcing Ads on Android users? "You agree that you will not engage in any activity with the Store, including the development or distribution of Products, that interferes with, disrupts, damages, or accesses in an unauthorized manner the devices, servers, networks, or other properties or services of any third party including, but not limited to, Android users, Google or any mobile network operator. You may not use customer information obtained from the Store to sell or distribute Products outside of the Store."
How do I block a custom weblink in the filter list? Say I want to block all websites with www.schofield.com in the name and any /data following in the link The spam changes so the link is random each time. eg. www.schofield.com/13434567 www.schofield.com/4577742 Entering www.schofield.com blocks specifically www.schofield.com Does Adguard take expressions? Entering www.schofield.com/? would block all links with schofield in the name. How do I do this? Is it possible? If not can you make this possible.
Yes, it would. You can read more about Adguard ad filters here: http://adguard.com/en/filterrules.html#introduction
@Sampei Nihira We'll check this website (http://film-stream.org/) Looks like mobile redirect. Depends on how they do it. Anyway if we can't block it right now we will add this option in future versions.
Have AdGuard for Android installed w/premium trial for a couple of days now, so far so good. If all keeps going well as has been so far you will have me as a long time paying customer. I need to look into the desktop version for Windows also soon as my current long time adblocker will be getting the boot.
Yes. Mobile redirect that also afflicts the opening of images posted on http://postimage.org/ Do a test with an inserted picture in a forum:
Thank you! I think we can handle postimage. New filters will be available in Experimental Filter soon.
@avatar Can you elaborate "Added an option to change the look of notification icon" being presented in the new beta? I have enabled this option but I didn't notice any difference in the notification icon.
It's buggy now. Restart protection to see the difference. Also if you use VPN mode with Android 4.X, there's no difference because we can't control the "key" icon.
