Quihoo, Kaspersky, Avira, BitDefender - great detection with zero FP. :thumb:

Terrible performance by Ad-aware, as usual in real world test. This is the evidence that it is active virus control (and its lack) that makes the real difference between Bitdefender and most of its licensee products. Unfortunatelly they include it only in paid version of Ad-aware.
Does anybody know which version of Avast was tested?

:) That's true but it also had some FPs.

They are all top runners indeed! But, strictly speaking, Trend Micro has only 1 (one) false positive with 100% detection. Quihoo has also one (1) false positive but a small % user dependent. While the rest you mentioned have some share of failures in protection.

Trend 100% with 1 FP. As predicted, and this will continue. Remarkable protection technology in Trend 2015.

How reliable are these tests? Should someone rely on these tests as 100%?

You're right. I was looking at Chart, which doesn't include October test yet, so disregard my comment :)

Holy #%&@ Trend Micro! That's all I've got to say about that. :isay:

Actually, I remember using a corporate edition of Trend Micro roughly 10 years ago now. It's great to see what they've achieved up until now, particularly the past couple of years.

Great results for many of the heavy hitters here.

They are tests, they give some valuable indication. If combined over time and compared with other tests they can be a solid source to assess the protection performance of a security product.

Free version tested; no AVC. And unless AV-Comp installed the latest version with Lavasoft's new Web Companion, they're still testing with the obsolete Security Toolbar.

And yes, AVC is Bitdefender's ace detector and, to my knowledge, Lavasoft is the only licensee using it. It takes up where BD's core engine using sigs/defs and B-Have leave off. And any licensed product that doesn't download BD sigs/defs (which are updated almost hourly) isn't getting the full monty. Lavasoft's servers are near-100% in sync with BD's releases, and even Free can be configured to check once an hour.

IMHO, Lavasoft's premium products are un-bloated BD solutions.

BTW, you can determine any version tested with on-line chart by hovering your cursor over the score bars.

Look at it like a sports' Leaderboard on which you determine which team gets your bets.

Any idea if Trend Micro still have that automatic renewal service include?

Indeed. Trend is going to improve in some other areas very shortly. The web filtration is extremely potent, by some testing - 80-90% effective. That's improving daily as more fingerprinting arrives from new Asus routers including Trend. Right now the RT-AC87 series includes it, but shortly even the lower level ones will have it. The 'collective' is going to benefit tremendously from this. However there are some other improvements in testing now that should make Trend the most premier protection in the world.

Apparently they also need some improvement in their processing of non-auto renewal entries into their system. They appear to have a very poor track record in this respect.

It's sad. They now have a product that's been consistently knocking it out of the park on blocking and their sales arm tars their rep with cancelled auto renewals that were not cancelled.

From personal experience and following various forums I can attest Trend Micro does not stand alone in companies giving customers problems with "cancelled" auto renewals.

Software auto renewals are simply a scam fostered on the concept of not having a customer lose protection unexpectedly. There are many alternative means of accomplishing this.

I have no clue about that department, sorry. I work strictly with engineering. I can tell you support has been improved, any issues can usually be resolved with a ticket. If not I can point out (private message) some direct emails for results if needed, but generally a ticket should get your issues taken care of.
