How to allow cookies on google.com when google is the 1st party ONLY, and block google.com cookies when google is not 1st party? Thanks
By not having any filtering checked in the default row. https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dynamic-filtering I have not used it so I can't say what you need to undo for the current sites you have filtered with it. By not making global scope rules for Google.com. Thats it, easy and simple. I have only these global scope rules: * * * block * * css allow (notice only css, doc and image are allowed for 3rd party) * * doc allow * * frame block * * image allow For the google.com I have these rules: (They could be made more restrictive but anyways they are to me ok.) google.com 1st-party * allow (allows also cookies) google.com 1st-party frame allow google.com ssl.gstatic.com * allow (some ssl.gstatic.com stuff is needed in the google.com scope for the gmail to work. google.com www.gstatic.com * allow
Disable cookie for google.com in global scope, enable cookie for google.com in its own scope: * google.com cookie block google.com google.com cookie allow Personally I disable cookie globally for all sites, and enable only on a per case basis, only if really needed. Example: * * cookie block wilderssecurity.com wilderssecurity.com cookie allow
Ok thanks. But if I uncheck any filtering in ublock then what I should keep ublock for? Maybe I am missing something here, I am sorry.
So: "Still unclear to me how to disable Dynamic filtering". All dynamic filters are disabled by default, you don't have a thing to do. Just collapse the section and forget about it.
To me µMatrix and µBlock go hand in hand, so it just seems natural for them to be mentioned and cross-referenced in both threads.
Ouch. Hard. Sometimes, you need cookies to use filters in order to go further + too many sites which will ask you cookies to continue. I've decided it's easier to keep cookies (for the session only).
Using Chromium, I just block 3rd party cookies and keep local data until quit browser, then using defaults in uMatrix, allow 1st party and normally I don't need to allow anything else.
@gorhill Is there any chance to increase the time for when the non blocked cookie and browser cache are deleted. I cant change the default time to anything greater than 1440 minutes. regards.
I didn't write any code for that. Though the matrix UI looks the same, the way rules are applied is quite different, and I have a hard time figuring how I could convert the old ruleset to the new one. It seems to me a lot of work which I decided was not worth it, and if feasible, a user would end up with a bloated ruleset (to mimic sandboxed scopes), defeating uMatrix's advantage, cleaner, more logical ruleset.
have someone checked this site? http://www.flightradar24.com/41.49,3.18/8 I still get a ad-banner at the right bottom of the page. I mean, no ad is visible, but the banner is still there.
It's uBlock-related a question.. uBlock -> Element picker -> Select the banner tab -> Select the parent of the banner tab = "www.flightradar24.com###bottomRightOverlays.desktop" = banner gone.
A suggestion... It would very helpful to have the MD5 and SHA1 values in the notes section for each download on this page: https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix/releases Regards, Phil
uBlock -> Element picker -> Select the banner tab -> Select the parent of the banner tab = "www.flightradar24.com###bottomRightOverlays.desktop" = banner gone. I'm sorry, but I don't understand your instructions.
If you want to block elements like this, it is not a job for µMatrix but for µBlock extension. Then gorhill tried to explain to you how to create a filter with µBlock: uBlock -> Element picker -> Select the banner tab -> Select the parent of the banner tab Then he gave you the filter to add in µBlock options (with the above method): www.flightradar24.com###bottomRightOverlays.desktop
