So I bought a 2 year license for Panda Cloud PRO Antivirus just because I don't install anything that's free on my computer (don't want no ads or nags)

But I can't seem to find the benefits of PRO over cloud?

    Can someone tell me please?

Also, There is no way to update my Antivirus from a right click menu, are the updates happening on the fly?

Thanks bro, I am online 24/7, but just wanted to know if I do go offline any time. Not that I run anything suspicious you know, all my software are legit, 0 cracks :) this is the only AV that gave me no system quirks and works with all the programs I use without preventing me from using them! Love how light it is as well and the interface is so customizable you can actually delete anything you don't need by clicking EDIT at the bottom then X to remove it from the main GUI :)

imo the detection is not as good while offline but there is still a local database for detection.

AFAIK it keeps a tiny offline malware database of the most probable infections.

I hope you will not find this product as a FP generator too cause I have....
As soon as I installed it few months ago, it alerted me about some legitimate well-known apps that were on my PC....

When I tried it last year it was horrible with FPs, but according to AV Comparatives that has improved drastically and I can confirm that, 0 FPs so far with all my software :)

Note, by default, it does not alert you for every fishy app it detects, so I turned on App Monitoring and now when I run an unknown app, it asks me to allow it or not, sort of like UAC but without the large popup and dimming screen, it actually makes you think twice and what's cool is check this......

I ran Shark 007 Advanced Codeck Pack, the codec pack itself i good but it comes bundled with lots of crapware so when I launched the setup, Panda asked me that its an unknown application do I want to allow it (behavioral detection), so I said yes, then as I clicked the next button, Panda popped up again and told me some other EXE are trying to run which was obvious it was the ad-ware/junkware, so I clicked NO and the app installed fine but neutralized the PUP installation :)

Also check the option on what to do with detected files, delete on the spot or notify, I chose notify

Remember on the main GUI you can actually click the EDIT button and remove the useless items you don't need

There is a problem when trying to add exclusions:

If you notice, when I go to C:\Users\All Users………..

The moment I expand that folder, no other folders appear although there are many folders in it and there is one that I want to exclude actually!

I like the fact that Panda Antivirus shows hidden system files by default which only a few AVs do like Kaspersky AV and ESET NOD32, other folders when expanded actually show what’s in them it’s only that ALL USERS folder.

I even tried to manually show hidden system files but that made no difference, there is a bug in the program

All Panda did was replace "Cloud" with "Free" in the product name and shift the USB component from Pro to Free.

"Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro Edition will be replaced by Panda Antivirus Pro 2015. Product users will be automatically upgraded to the new version..."
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/mediac...loud-antivirus-free-now-panda-free-antivirus/

Even more interesting, Panda is distancing itself from Free.
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/mediacenter/interviews/origins-new-panda-free-antivirus/
"XMT, a new detection engine included in all Panda’s consumer antivirus solutions."
    Consumer = Paid? Apparently so.

Why isn't Free/Cloud specifically included in the list of the other products instead of just "joining" the lineup if Free has XMT? Because it doesn't. Why the no-cost upgrade if Pro/Cloud has XMT? Because it doesn't.

In reading between the lines, my take is: "What can you expect from the best FREE antivirus?" is not as much as "XMT...the whole set of new technologies that drive the new engine in Panda’s products."

Clearly (but not too clearly), Free/Cloud and Pro/Cloud do not have XMT...
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/mediacenter/press-releases/panda-security-launches-xmt-panda2015/
"Panda Global Protection 2015, Panda Internet Security 2015, Panda Antivirus Pro 2015, Panda Mobile Security 2.0 and Panda Gold Protection are the five products included in the security company’s 2015 consumer line which this year boasts the new XMT Smart Engineering engine as its main new feature."

Judging by review and blog sites, many have been deluded into thinking Free has XMT - a testament to Panda's marketing in that one has to piece together several sources to debunk that fallacy. Even PC Magazine's Rubenking fell victim, "I have to applaud Panda for putting its full-scale protection into the entry-level free product." He even adds "2015" to the name.

Of course, none of this is meant to besmirch Free's stellar street cred. Free is free and this one is a really good free.

@Mortal Raptor: I hope this answers your "what's the diff" question. Hopefully PAP 2015 will resolve that exceptions issue.

    Cheers.

    Dear Mr. zfactor,

Either they have fixed the issue, or the fact that I was using Windows 8.1 and now switched back to Window 7 fixed it, the version of Panda is the same, 15.0.4, but look at how the ALL USERS expanded now looks, this is how it should be :)

What identity shield? I can't find that in the options?

There is just Safe Browsing, Firewall, USB Vaccine, Application Monitoring (which I have set to ON, it's off by default)
