Regardless if they respond, and how they answer, will you believe them 100%?

Does the latest version now have proactive detection? From what tests I have seen lately the auto starts are being blocked.

I am interested in their response. Someone could say I should care less what happens in China, but I want to see how will they respond to it.
After all, no one is forcing me to stay with Qihoo if I don't want, there are always alternatives like Baidu.
And let me be clear, it's not that I don't trust Qihoo or anything bad right now, this thing just popped on my radar and I'd like to see what is going on.
For that, I'd need patience, and lots of it. Because it might take time before I get any news ;)

I have checked it out, it's not my cup of tea, can't believe that people actually like this stuff. But does anyone have some more info about the sandbox, did you guys test malware against it?

What it is that you don't like?
As for sandbox, so far, no breaches, but then again, not many tests involving sandbox. From my own test [personal, for me] against a small number of malware, it did not leave any traces, did not escape sandbox and was easily cleared.
I always have "Disallow network access of sandboxed program" enabled, so cannot comment what would happen if I had allowed internet access...

I like this product;however, I had a very scary thing happen to me. I downloaded and installed the 360 Total Security, and allowed it to clean some junk files ect. I then went and reboot my machine, and my desktop was almost completely gone except for a few icons. I'm happy to say, I recover my desktop with a system restore point. 360 Total Security also deleted some of my Windows updates and added networking adapters that is not needed in a Home User PC as of yet. Those network adapters were Microsoft ISATAP Adapter and Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface. The only good thing about my experience is that my computer now responds faster after the clean. I still would like to try it, but maybe this time I should tread lightly. ;)

I also find their cleaning functions to be dangerous. I'd stick to ccleaner if one really feels the need for this function.

Yes, it's true. It even clears the cronology of windows updates. If you look at it after using the cleaner, you will see that there is no update installed.

LOL! I stopped it before it got too far. I was lucky to get my desktop and all files back, but it destroyed my Opera browser and all extensions. That is one dangerous piece of software. Not good!

Far as I know, the clean-up doesn't remove Windows Updates themselves, just the backups and logs. I found with Google Chrome that manually checking for updates fails in the first instance but works the second time it is tried.

Well the GUI is nice, but I'm just not into AV's. About the sandbox, cool to know that it performed well, but does it also has the same security design as Sandboxie, with different "integrity levels"? And does it also virtualize IPC, or just the file system and registry?

LOL, I think it's silly to combine a cleaner with AV, why not just separate them. They should have sticked with 360 IS. And you should always be careful with cleaners, they can wreak havoc for sure.

LOL!!! Yes this is true, I should had known better. I use CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller and Wise Registry Cleaner, and I'm very careful with these three products when cleaning my rig of leftover software registries and junk files. I think Qihoo should just sticked with 360 IS and just junk the cleaning aspect altogether.

So I take it they never responded directly to if they were redirecting to a fake Apple website?

No, but via their corporate web page, which is official enough...

To all the rest using cleaning/optimize:

    Using these features does not:
    - disable critical system services
    - disable necessary program services
    - delete windows update patches
    - disable needed programs for running Windows
    - destroys your computer from inside out

    Using these features does:
    - optimize startup/running/responsivness by disabling unnecessary system services not needed.
    - disables auto running or continuous running of certain programs in order to have less RAM/CPU usage as possible. Manual update still possible
    - Turning off unnecessary system/program services protects computer from exploit/penetration, while at the same time allows for on-demand call for these functions
    - EACH and EVERY action is REVERSABLE
    - EACH and EVERY action can be CHECKED or UNCHECKED PRIOR to ANY cleaning or optimizing operation

What is astonishing is, majority of people complained there's no list what is to be fixed before all-in-one optimize, and Qihoo added that, yet, people do not use it.
What is astonishing is, majority of people complained, and still do, about something they want back, which they can, by going in the Manual list in the Speedup section of the program, with manually enabling/disabling/fine tuning what they want.

But, I guess, the easy way is, complain Qihoo of the apocalypse and just uninstall it, because solving problem is not the way to go at all.... :)

What is the most laughable of all, is, certain people recommending "do not use" while themselves do not know full functionality/usage of the program.

And here I am, using 360 Cloud Disk, grinding 36TB of cloud, entirely on Chinese, no English support. Still learning about it, PC and Android upload/backup.
Amazing, once I translate it all, I might even do a HELP file on it, so the others can use it too.....
Those that are interested in it, that is....

I think not. In fact, I think it's smart on their part, having early access to W10, [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso <-official enough], so they can iron out stabitlity, bugs and compatibility...
I love my W7, and have no intention of upgrading at this time, but I am glad they support everything from XP to 10... :thumb:
