I am planning to set up W7 and Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit on C: then use Windows 10 and centos7 for VMWare Is this feasible do you all think
C: as in a dual-boot on your hard drive? I don't see why not, although the easy Wubi option isn't available anymore and you have to partition your drive.
I didn't know Wubi was ditched. Anyway, it had 30GB limitation and not suitable for permanent use (performance degradation as it is not optimized for NTFS). Did you install Ubuntu to Win7 machine? If so, just remember if in the future you uninstalled Win7 first, then Ubuntu will become unbootable. It's due to terrible Microsoft practice. Other than that, I don't see any problem. VMWare (I assume what you're refering is VMWare Player) works better in Windows than VirtualBox, though it doesn't has snapshot function. Well, if you want to granular control VMWare's network configuration or troubleshoot virtual network, you have to get vmnetcfg.exe but since it is removed from VMware Player you have to download VMware workstation to get it (no need for purchase of course.)
not sure how ubuntu works but when installing mint it gives the option of running alongside windows.Seeing as mint is a fork of ubuntu i would imagine it works in the same way.
