In the latest beta you can't decide whether to turn on avira/BD real-time, unlike before?

Was the latest av-comparatives score without real-time avira/BD?

Main problem with 360TS are their heuristics which are crazy sensitive. Sure they detect nearly every single piece of malware but what doesn't make sense is how they never have crazy high number of false positives. Every time i tried it it detected tons of harmless stuff...

Wow! I just wrote a letter to the support to make the facebook login optional and then saw this. Lol. :D
Loved 360 IS. Will try this for sure.

Well, the facebook login tab is still there. I don't use FB and find it completely useless, even annoying...

Or am I trying the wrong version?
Definitely. Lol. Downloading 5.2 beta now, huh.

I guess that only happens on a Full Scan. I rather take a FP which I can upload to VT instead of a infected computer.

What do you mean? Both engines are real time if you chose "security"

Forever- This new version does not have an auto-sandbox. One can specify an application to automatically run in the sandbox, but unknowns are not automatically shunted into the box (unlike Comodo).

Tool Box > Sandbox > Run risky Software in Sandbox ~~

You can enable and disable it. lol, I thought it is auto sandboxing :(

Right click > run in sandbox. Not exactly auto, but not slower either.

I'm confused. If I go for the security setting Avira and BitDefender will be installed. That is okay. But if I change it back to balanced and go under Virus Scan both engines are still active.

    ??

They are not, just installed and updatable.
When you switch to Security profile, or Custom check them, they will be active again. Balanced and lower turns off their protection engines.

Great AV and light on resources even with BD and Avira engines active.

What about privacy? Seems like Qihoo collects everything from IP to all your documents, payment infos etc.

It's a serious charge, do you have any evidence?

After that Verge article that mentions Qihoo, I have installed it from the machines in my family. I am a bit concerned about some of these Chinese and Russian AVs.

    Thank you.

Thank you. I cannot find it anywhere. Then I installed 360 IS and TS but pressing their privacy links on the installers doesn't produce anything. So I cannot see it myself. Sorry.

Thanks a lot! It seems the same!

Yeah, they work over all personal info. :(
Why they don't make an option to don't use users' info?
They really want to help us so much that even don't give an opportunity to opt out?

At least they don't mention about working over users' passwords. :D

I can't say anything here for sure except sometimes politics goes too far in propaganda against some countries. ;)

Sure. It's an individual decision we are need to make. I've gone back and forth with Qihoo for the past year or so.

I was thinking for 30 minutes whether to post anything regarding privacy @ Qihoo, but I guess one more dead horse can take a beating.
    Here it goes:

1: Qihoo are pretty much transparent about privacy and what they collect and why
2: You can always contact chief privacy executive at [privacy@360safe.com]
3: They collect various info to have data about:
    a) their software usage
    b) geographic representation of number of installations/uninstallations
    c) unique hw identifiers [how many users have installed what, hence the number ~ 500 million]
    d) detection sensors and pingers [what is detected, where, when, why]
    e) error/log/crash uploads for bug fixes
    f) what OS and software is installed on machine, for better compatibility/update/maintenance/protection
    g) URL's visited for better web/malware protection
    h) NOT everything in http://360safe.com/privacy.html is covered for international users, some are for Chinese users.

If you believe your privacy is being violated, please contact email above and present your case.

All above are basically normal cloud information which is OK. PUI, if collected, are carefully handled and not shared with US intelligence agencies.
