As the name of the thread suggests,
I am trying to ascertain if Online Armor Firewall as a standalone product has been permanently discontinued?
The last Online Armor was more than a year ago(Oct, 15, 2013) at version 7.0.0.1866
since then there has been absolutely no updates stable or beta for this product.
When all other security companies are updating products so frequently, why is OA stagnant for more than a year?
@Fabian Wosar responded recently to the same question, but I think the response was non committal , i.e. there are no plans to cancel OA but no updates/beta or development going on either.
    Is it forgotten?

    Any Emsisoft representatives please respond

    Poster asked on Emsisoft forum:

Online Armor is not discontinued...the last release date was : 10/15/2013...soon it will be a year...will it be updated?

    Answer:
We do plan to backport some of the improvements we made in EIS to OA. However, there is no ETA yet.

I read on Emisofts forum that the new firewall that is in EIS will be integrated into OA. I was one of the original beta testers for that Firewall. At first we thought it was being integrated into Online Armor until they broke the news to us. I've been waiting patiently for some time now. I hope they add some of the features that OA has into the new firewall like the network monitor, ability to import blocklist, etc.. I can't be sure about the rest since I have not tested EIS yet. I'm an Online Armor user. I'm getting ready to test EIS though just to see what the Firewall has in it. It would be nice to see some additional HIPS control added to OA as well, but I would settle for the firewall being updated. The firewall needs to facilitate more complex firewall rules, and it needs to support IPV6.

It so happens that I have a license for OA, courtesy of an enquiry I made to Emsisoft some months ago. I was thinking of installing in a snapshot, that has EIS installed. Was wondering would that be possible?
I could disable the firewall in EIS, firstly, and then install OA. I am prepared to sacrifice a snapshot, to see what would happen.

I knew this is going to happen since Emsisoft bought it.

That it would decay. Seems to be the thing these days - companies buy something, and it decays. Since it hasn't been updated in over a year, and there have been major hardware/software changes in that year, it seems to have decayed.

Hmm, I have it still working in a couple of snapshots. Still works like it did on day one. Yes it needs some things update, and yes Emsisoft has said they plan to do it, but as of right now it still works fine.

Do you remember what happened to PC Tools Firewall+ and Threatfire? Same thing is going to happen to OA.You can pretty much bet on it.

Yes, I do, but so what. I am active on the Emsisoft forum and I test. As long as people continue to want OA, they will support it. So your rumor mongering only hurts it and isn't based on any facts you have

Sure, believe anything you want. Online Armor was a good firewall years ago, but then it became worse after Emsisoft took over. I didn't bother to renew my subscription this year and never looked back.

It is still the same program, in fact it was really updated as much as possible. Problem was it suffered from the same problem all HIPS have. To unfriendly to the average users, hence low sales.

I'm still a fan of OA despite the much lesser use my XP system sees. I'd hate to see it go though I certainly understand the allure of suites.

Read about that also here. I really hope they develop OA more. I am a fan of it's HIPS and with it you can block most of the nasty programs that call home. The new firewall of Emsisoft is different from OA. I seem to feel the need of that OP as he also uses OA to control programs that he uses.

I hope if Emsisoft will incorporate some firtewall improvements of the new Emsisoft Internet Security to OA they will still make it possible for people like me to be able to block restrict programs accessing other programs etc.

Emsisoft initially done some great things with Online Armor. I asked if they could add file/folder, and registry protection. They added that in no time. They also added really great whitelisting for Online Armor, and their cloud AV. After they did this it seems like they have done little to nothing ever since. I just tried EIS so I could try the new firewall since I have not used it since it's early alpha stage. I didn't like it so I don't know if I want it integrated into OA now, or not. I don't understand why they would not have everything associated with the firewall in the Firewall tab. You have to navigate to other parts of the UI to access other parts of the firewall. I think the Firewall for OA is much better thought out in terms of it's ease of use. Everything to do with OA firewall is centralized in one location.

It looks dead to me. I'll bet that by this December Emsisoft will officially announce its death. Farewell, Online Armor... you will always be remembered in our memories forever.

And of course this is based on fact.

No, it's based on my super psychic power. Seriously though, one year and not a single new program version update? Not even for beta version updates? Let's face it, they're going to kill OA. For what do you think Emsisoft develops a firewall component in EIS? Nobody cares about CHIPSes.
