How about a Microsoft app that warns you about borked Patch Tuesdays?

It's called Windows Update. Set it to notify only and there you are. :D
The phone lockscreen thing looks kind of cool. but the last time I tried one of their beta lockscreens it choked the phone and was pretty buggy, so I hesitate to install it. I'll wait for more feedback, like everything Microsoft these days.

ROTFL! I was thinking more along the lines of a predictive app, not unlike predictive text, which makes an assessment of which individual patches are likely to bork your system.

Microsoft would not make that app, it would be admitting to a problem they shouldn't be having. I think they best way to manage the risk at this point is to wait at least a week to install any updates. Which I did not do this month because I though certainly they can't blow this for the 3rd month in a row, but they did. Lesson learned. I think a better idea for an app would be to have the ability to report on any issues with the updates and everyone with the app would be able to immediately see when others have reported problems without having to search the internet. I would also like to see a list of all of the files updated with a patch. They don't seem to publish that info anymore. It could be part of the app, and I would still wait a week to see what others were reporting.

Haha, I guess we don't need to ask if you will wait or not next month then :argh:
