Can the bookmarks in W7 be put on a disk and transferred to W 10? I am not ready to do it, but wonder how to transfer data to a new computer. Thanks, Jerry
Jerry, I'm not sure what web BROWSER you plan on using in W10 but most modern browsers offer an EXPORT feature in their Bookmark/Favorite area.
My usual Browser is FF. I put my bookmarks on a disk this AM. The names show, but when I click on one it always goes to BBC News. That seems strange to me. I don't know if Windows would straighten it out if loaded to a browser. Thanks for the reply. Jerry
Jerry, from the Menu bar Bookmarks Show all Bookmarks Import and Export Backup Save the .json Bookmarks Show all Bookmarks Import and Export Restore Choose file Select the .json Open
Actually, saving the bookmarks database to JSON is IMO a bad idea. The database can't be used if one wants to change the web browser. Better export them to HTML if you ask me.
